Orange selling really well, looking forward to the Seven Seas release over here next year to see how good it is.

Nisekoi and Gintama still going strong.

11. *38,505 *,101,087 Gakuen Babysitters Vol.12

This looks so adorable. Really want to read it.

Read a few chapters and YES! It gives that "Heart Warming" feeling.

^ do you know how much did the limited edition for volume 9 sold? Seeing as how its a keychain I don't think the limited edition sold much.
It debut with (41, *25,712 *,*25,712 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.9 Limited Edition)http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=533030 and probably sold to around 100k at the end of the year thanks to the anime boost. So not much but it still something that makes vol 9 pass 2m mark probs.

Cool info, thanks. So vol 9 probably sold a little over 2 million.

No way it sold 100k. Limited editions don't get reprints so the anime boost can't really affect them. It most likely sold 30~40k.

You're right. The last time a year had 53 weeks was in 2009, and Oricon covered from 2008/11/17〜2009/11/22, which is 53 weeks. So looks like there's one more week of 2015 then if Oricon is planning to do the same thing in 2015, and that means the 2015 yearly list will now be out on December 7th (always the 3rd Monday after the last day of the Oricon year). Thanks for the correction.
Hmmm, that gives Kingdom one last chance of beating SNK.

Curious how all the OPM sales are in order, with volume one having the most sales and the newest having the least, and all follow in order… except volume 7, which has over 3,000 more sales than volume 6. Peculiar. O.o

It's always like that with every series. Older chapters have been out for a longer time so they have better sales. People also stop following the manga along the way (because of loss of interest, death etc) so newer volumes won't have their sales. The only things that can make newer volumes have higher sales count than older ones are added bonuses (CD, DVD, toys, games etc) or insanely good reception. The volumes released just before, during or just after can also marginally more than older volumes since some people might skip the rest and start from there but that's very rare, most fans buy right from volume 1. Orange on the other hand seems like an anomaly:
*1. 340,097 *,340,097 Orange Vol.5
36. *21,884 *,517,646 Orange Vol.1
41. *20,252 *,580,986 Orange Vol.4
43. *19,615 *,488,122 Orange Vol.2
46. *18,895 *,566,772 Orange Vol.3
I've never seen a manga where the first volume isn't the best selling one. And there wasn't any limited edition so those are really its total sales.

Interesting to see OPM like that. Also cool for Orange.

Since OPM's boost is now more visible, we can make a comparison with other notable anime boosts. Six weeks after their respective anime debuts:

Rank/Total sales since anime launch /Weekly Sales/ Total Sales/ Series name (vol.1)

1. 271,054 43,981 1,360,477 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.1
2. 217,069 24,669 644,655 Nanatsu no Taizai Vol.1
3. 156,138 19,472 357,985 Magi Vol.1.
4. 144,691 23,429 552,781 Haikyuu!! Vol.1
5. 135,883 25,545 490,775 Tokyo Ghoul Vol.1
6. 115,592 39,837 349,213 Ao no Exorcist vol.1
7. 97,495~112,386 24,609 941,605 One Punch-Man Vol.1
8. Kuroko no Basket vol.1

KnB was also a late starter, like OPM, it hadn't even showed up in the Top 50 yet. While OPM is now on par with NNT/TG/HQ in weekly sales, it's still lagging behind overall so far. Collecting this data made me realise just how leggy TG was. It's first volume never reached 600k while on the list yet today it's a 900k seller. Even though Root A helped it, its boost lasted a lot longer than usual. With that being said, Ao no Exorcist's boost is still the most impressive after that of SnK.

Orange is getting a live action adaption. Its unlikely to get an anime as well. The live action route is more common for shoujo.

Wow, Ajin second? This surprising. I'm fine with Orange being one since the manga is a top-notch to read.

Screw the other title, the fact that WCW is still on the list is enough to please me.

I've never seen a manga where the first volume isn't the best selling one. And there wasn't any limited edition so those are really its total sales.

I'm guessing it's because Orange was first published by Shueisha, and they only released the first two volumes. These sales are probably only for Futabasha's edition, so it makes sense that volumes 1 and 2 didn't sell as much as 3 and 4 (and presumably 5). There must be people who bought Shueisha's edition and then continued reading the manga with Futabasha's instead of re-buying volumes 1 and 2.

And I'm actually expecting an Orange anime to be announced for next year...it's not the usual thing when a manga has already finished, but I have faith (and reasons to think so)!

It's been 7 week already for One Piece Vol.79, and it's still in top 20.

Dunno what happened to them (i've never read them), but it seem their sales really dropped little by little.
