According to Kinokuniya, a recap OVA of Ookiku Furikabutte was announced to be released on March 24th, 2010. The 26 episodes of the first season will be reassembled into two 90 min episodes. The birthday party of Mihashi will be remade and included as a new extra anime.

Well I just (actually seriously just did) finish the first season and ova episode. I don't think I will need to watch the re-cap :P Definitely can't wait for the second season though, that and Major are going to be awesome in April.

No, you should watch the entire series because it is really good.
