A few questions about the romance aspect of Fairy Tail.

Hi guys, I just recently got into anime and I'm a fan of Romance but I just also love Romance with other genres, specially action, fantasy etc. Recently fairy tail caught my attention but it's got such large number of episodes already that I don't want to make a start and then realise it wasn't what I was looking for so i need some clarification before i start on it. If anyone could answer the questions i have that would be really great. don't mind spoilers.
-->First of all, does the anime actually have a fair bit of romance to actually be classified as such?

-->I know it's harem/reverse harem etc. and I've seen all the countless ships. I don't mind this as long as there is some clear indication as to the one main girl the guy likes or the one main guy the girl likes. So is this anime like this? at least with the main characters.

--> Are there already any couples in the anime? if so who (as i said i don't mind spoilers) ?

--> Finally, me being some who likes some romance mixed with action, do you recommend me to watch this?

The romance is the same as most typical shounen. There are pairings but nothing ever happens. If something happens it won't happen until right at the end of the series.

romance in battle shounen even more suck then romance genre itself which is already suck. go watch nana, koi kaze, and hourou musuko, then just leave romance genre in anime.

well, there's a couple who has a lil girl later but even so, we barely ever see them. beside that, yup.

1. No it doesn't. Fairy Tail is a battle shonen and romance is sometimes included mildly in battle shonen but never usually a major focus.

2. It isn't a harem at all. It is clear who the main female characters like.

3. Only one legitimate couple I know of

all the others are teased.

4. No,it hardly focuses on romance. The main type of love in Fairy Tail is friendship not romance.

Watch nanatsu no taizai its a action series. But IMO the romance aspect is pretty high. I wouldn't even be annoyed if they add a romance tag in it. Because the author doesn't shy away from the romance like most battle shounen series. Which I give him respect for that. So yea. Give seven deadly sins a chance.

Fairy tail have a bit of romance sprinkle here and there its pretty mild.

it doesnt focus on romance, and it's bad at what it does focus on. not worth the watch. Kuma's recommendations for romance anime should be solid, but I personally don't really know any real good action+romance anime.

Just do an anime search filtering in only anime with action and/or romance. Watch whatever peaks your interest from the list.
