Still, as a filler it did give you some important backgroundstory...At least much more so than the amusementpark episode...

How you can you say that this episode is a filler? It's stuffed with really important information.

Exactly. Once I removed the stupid smile from my face (I'm easily entertained), I was all like "*gasp!* So that's what happened..."

This episode was just too good for words XD
I'm just as clueless as Vincent, I only got 4 questions right and I said "people", "rocket" and "ergo proxy" just like him. The problem was the time >___<

Oh and "currently unemployed, searching for yourself." is something I can relate to... XD

I'm definitely going to rewatch this and pay more attention to all the hidden pieces of info.

And I thought the episodes so far were confusing, but that quiz show really took the cake! So unexpected xDD But that was a very original way to present some background information (and general facts) though. Oh and Vince won, yay! ^^

Yea that was interesting, I really liked the bit about Re-L and the creepy eyes. The writer is apparently open to self-critiquing.
Did anyone else get the "mistake" of that episdoe?
I think it was that the announcer was initially calling it qqqq, but then started calling it qqq.

Not exactly random as everything in this ep relates to the backstory and main plot. I suggest you rewatch this ep once you finish the series.

I think I kow what the mistake was..
During the "who am i" round the maths was horrible, the rules stated that if you guessed correct after the first tile, 600,000 point would be awarded and 50,000 points is deducted from the prize for every clue you are given.

Vincent guesses after 3 tiles have been revealed, and the score he is offered is 450,000 suggesting 3 deductions of 50,000 but the rules say it should have only been two (first tile not counting), then after 3 more tiles Vincent guesses again and is offered 350,000 but it should be 300,000 if the last offer (3 tiles earlier) was indeed worth 450,000.

Well if you call explaining the backstory unnecessary, sure.

I said when I first saw it "WTF are these people thinking?" Are they trying to mess with our sanity.

Initially I thought that the episode was just a filler, ala Stand Alone episodes in the GitS series but then as it progressed it revealed key details!

As what most of the folks pointed out here, it could be the venue to explain some key points of the series. These are the important details that may have bugged or confused us during the previous episodes.

Yes. Episode 15 was very informative.
At first, I thought that this episode and the amusement park one were just pointless fillers, but they really show the viewer what the proxy really are and that they are each unique. ie. One creates a world where there are game shows every day, one creates a Disney-themed world, etc.

Yeah. And Vincent got the answer to that question I believe.
The game show host is actually one of the Proxies that I liked. He may have made a deadly game show, but he's mostly a fun-loving Proxy. Another one I liked was the Walt Disney Proxy. They're alot better than the Proxies that shape-shift or mess with the characters' minds in order to kill them. =D

I was hoping for a more graphic death for the host.

Pretty funny episode, although the joke dragged on a bit. It did give us some information though.

Before you all say it was pointless they gave us some good back story here. This episode reminded me a lot of an episode of Paranoia Agent so take that as you will.

Well this episode had quite a few flaws but let's start with the good points: we learn quite a bit about the background story in this fictional world. Hmm, that's it I guess.

Now for the bad stuff: the whole fake show was incredibly annoying (starting with the host and his stupid gimmicks), Vincent Law's general attitude was even more irritating than usual (man, could he look more stupid and submissive?) and his not answering the (mostly) simple questions at the beginning of the episode, made him look like a moron. On a personal note, the reference to the mystical nut Jung was rather irritating too.

This show is sometimes thought provoking but it clearly bites off more than it can chew. I hope we won't get too many dull and over-ambitious episodes before the end.

Its was weird, but I liked...

one thing that was funny, at least for me, is that the name "Q - Q Q - Q", here in Brasil soundds like "what - what what - what". a perfect name for a qui show...

This was just an extremely strange way of providing us with the backstory in full. Such as Proxy One, the Boomerang rocket, the methane gas explosions destroying 85% of the world and the existence of 300 Proxy. Better than the traditional flashback episode anyway and the host used the game as an unconventional way to kill Vincent I assume.
