 The official site of the Yami Shibai anime has announced that the short series will receive a third season. The anime is scheduled to air in January 2016 on TV Tokyo. In addition to the anime announcement, the site also announced staff members, as well as returning cast members Ryouta Murai and Risa Aizawa. The third season will focus on urban legends and compromise of at least 100 new characters. More information, including episode count, will be announced at a later date.Director: Takashi Taniguchi, Tomohisa Ishikawa Script: Hiromu Kumamoto, Satoko Kishi Planning: Norio Yamakawa, Takuya Iwasaki Producer: Nobuyuki Hosoya, Motoki Hirose, Kenji Sakurai Studio: ILCA The series previously received two anime seasons, with the first season airing between July 15, 2013 and September 30, 2013. | Yes yes yes!! More horror anime is great! I've always lament the lack of horror in anime format, so this is a great news for me, even though it could possibly turn out to be bad. Anyway, can't wait to learn of more spooky tales. Somebody should really animate some other horror manga already, that would be great. |

| Looking forward to it! Focusing on urban tales rather than just horror stories seems interesting. The second season wasn't as good as the first; I'm hoping this one will be better. |

| Season 1 had me jumping at some moments. Season 2 had the creepy atmosphere as season 1, but it wasn't scary nor did it make me jump. Still a good short though |

I wonder how Toei will animate this, is it gonna be like Mononoke, or is it gonna be like Kuuchuu Buranko.. or something else. I can't wait to see how they will handle it. But still, horror anime is not very common, we don't often get one, and when we do, it will take a while until the next one comes. It is just not a very popular genre. Speaking of horror series, even though it's more supernatural than horror it'd be great to have Ghost Hunt season 2. That is one of the very few horror series that genuinely terrorized me. I still remember that scene where Mai was dragged underground and was about to get decapitated alive.. just shameless advertising trying to appeal to horror fans here ;P |

| The first season of Yami Shibai was one of the few horror anime that really creeped me out. I didn't find the second as scary but still alright. I'm pretty excited for this, hopefully it'll be more like the first. |

| Good, Yami Shibai is a very interesting series. I wish there were more horror animes, both Kowabi and Kagewani this season aren't good. But, 100 characters remind me of Hyaku Monogatari, will it have a episode about?. |
