So basically what Balanced Brawl is Brawl with all the gay crap taken out and with a few tweaks to some characters to make them more fun. Here are some examples of what Balanced Brawl has to offer :

- Chaingrabs removed from Falco, King Dedede, and Pikachu.
- No random tripping however items or moves that do trip such as Diddy kong's bananas still trip.
- No More Infinites or Infinite grab releases.
- Overall more character balance.

There is nothing to unlearn or relearn as balanced brawl is pretty much exactly like brawl except 10x better by taking out the little things that just overall annoy brawlers who play competively and casually.

You don't need to worry about the wii update. To play balanced brawl, you just need to put files onto an SD card, go to stage builder, and then it will launch Gecko OS for you automatically. No homebrew required.

Balanced brawl is amazing - I have had it for about half a year now and I haven't gone back to regular brawl
