pfffft even the One Piece spinoff gets in the top 50 bahahha Expected for One Piece, to be #1, though didn't quite make 1.5 million in the 2 days the chapter's been on sale. But still, well over 1 million volumes in 2 days. That's freaking insane. I expected Haikyu'su and Assassination Classroom's new volumes to be the #2 and #3 respectively, both over 350k in 2 days, with Haikyuu barely edging AC out. I'm more curious how the charts for their new volumes will look next week. Haikyuu does have the anime that just started its second season, meaning it does have the anime boost, which might have had an impact. I'm curious to see the overall volume sales for the week, with the aforementioned new Haikyuu anime season. SnK's volume 17 is still on the charts. Again, I'm curious to see how the overall ales for the series did this week. Big week with new volume releases, as Shokugeki no Souma's new volume was released this week as well. |

After 2 days: *1. 1,441,768 1,441,768 One Piece Vol.76 *1. 1,467,741 1,467,741 One Piece Vol.79 Oh boy, this is just absolutely crazy. Can 79 actually top 76? That will be hard since 76 had a massive second week thanks to the New Year boost but with a 26k head start, that certainly seems doable. This is the best One Piece year since 2012. 50. *,*19,849 *,*19,849 One Piece Party Vol.1 What's this? After 2 days: *3. *,254,704 *,254,704 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Vol.12 (before the anime) *3. *,354,022 *,354,022 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu Vol.16 After 2 days: *2. *,378,403 *,378,403 Haikyuu!! Vol.14 *2. *,367,497 *,367,497 Haikyuu!! Vol.18 Let's see whether season 2 can bring in new readers. After ~3 weeks: *7. *87,616 *,552,587 Tokyo Ghoul:re Vol.1 (17 days) 12. *,*80,978 *,697,661 Tokyo Ghoul:re Vol.2 (18 days) *7. *,*84,610 *,714,601 Tokyo Ghoul:re Vol.3 (17 days) *9. *,*76,907 *,694,142 Tokyo Ghoul:re Vol.4 (17 days) Hmmm, slight drop in sales. Expected One Piece at the summit, fab cover as well with only Gats looking out of place. *4. *,172,900 *,172,900 Shokugeki no Souma Vol.15 15. *,*52,455 *,*52,455 Kinnikuman Vol.52 41. *,*23,263 *,*53,862 Shinmai Maou no Testament Vol.6 49. *,*20,266 *,160,161 Hajime no Ippo Vol.111 Such greatness. Very happy with Shokugeki's sales, expecting steady rises now we're in a fab arc. Shinmai does sell more than the LNs which IS unusual as far as Japan goes (very common in the west though). Ippo still shining. SaberCapital said: how does hajime no ippo still exsit with bad sales like that/ Bad sales? Gotta be trolling. |

One Piece is just incredible. Even though this was a busy week, it actually managed to outsell all the other manga combined in the top 10. Just wow. Haikyuu did very well considering it had a bunch of related spin offs/guidebooks as well, let's see if the second season can consolidate it as the current third best selling manga. I'm also happy to see vol 17 of SnK linger on the list for a while longer. It should leave next week, unless by some miracle the Junior High anime's gonna have some impact. Super excited to see next week's sales. Fingers crossed One Punch Man exceeds everyone's expectations. |
5 main aspects I base my ratings on: 1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it? 2. Is it better than Breaking Bad? 3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it? 4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL? 5. Is it actually good? Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant... |

Yep, there is volume 1 in day 6. The other volume is just the Hero Encyclopedia. Comparing a Nedoroid/SD spin-off from Sakyou Jump series to any type of attack on titan spin-off is super unfair(though If I remember well the one with Levi sold way better). You should just compare it with Attack on Titan High school. I'm not sure but I believe High School in 2 days sells around 19,365(volume 8 did, and I believe it only sold 2 days). LordPerucho said: Nothing will touch SNK for the forseeable future. So far, its boost seems quite inferior to NNT and SNK. Higher than Magi and KnB, slightly inferior to Ao No Eexorcist/Tokyo Ghoul/ Haikyuu. With that being said, it's too early to say anything. Owari no Seraph for example looked like it would pull a TG based on its first week boost but eventually came nowhere close. Longevity is the key. |

LordPerucho said: Also its me or FT is also heading downhill like Toriko, Bleach? Need to see a FT Manga sales comparison as well... It definitely feels like it. Several years back it was the #4 spot for the year, but right now it isn't even in the top 10, though it is at the 11 spot. It might be the Japanese are not enjoying the direction of the series. At least in the west, many seem to be complaining about FT's content, and perhaps the Japanese feel the same and it's catching up. Obviously it's at nowhere near Bleach levels, but it does seem to be at a low point right now. |

So here's the Weekly Top 10: 1. 1,534,450 One Piece 2. 421,725 Haikyuu!! 3. 385,107 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu 4. 215,930 Prison School 5. 211,235 Shokugeki no Souma 6. 186,160 3-gatsu no Lion 7. 127,659 Kingdom 8. 109,533 Boku no Hero Academia 9. 93,830 Tokyo Ghoul:re 10. 85,626 Yokai Watch Haikyuu has bigger backlog sales than AssClass for obvious reasons. Prison School sold over 200k,... again. Top 10 in Yearly sales confirmed I guess. Kingdom looses nearly 50k as expected (since the end of month boost is over). Hero Academia sells a whooping 110k. This is probably the most underestimated series in Ejc's tables since I'm sure it sells a lot every week, just not enough to make the Top 10. Top 30 in December? Very likely. |

Next week is the big week, as OP, Haikyuu, AC, and SnS had their volumes released 2 days ago iirc, meaning I don't think the backlog boost this week will be as big as it will be for next week. Also very surprising SnK isn't on the list at all, so it didn't sell 85k this week. Massive Kingdom drop isn't surprising. I mentioned it in the manga sales thread, but there's going to be a Kingdom feature in Da Vinci magazine for its November issue. I'm not sure when their November issue comes out or if it's even a popular magazine. If it's relatively popular, it might get a little boost from that, so that's something to look for. I think for the next several weeks, Haikyuu will get some pretty healthy sales due to its new volume combined with the new anime. I don't think the new volume will reach 1 million sales, but who knows. This is definitely one crazy week for manga, with 4 pretty big series all getting new volumes released. |
