I might have the slightest knowledge of what a tsundere is, but can someone explain to me what it really means, and the meanigs of all the other dere's. If there was a list of all the dere's and there meanings, that would be great.

Those are usually used to describe (anime) girl personality types:

Tsundere is acting cold, arrogant and violent, usually even more if it's towards the guy she likes. But when she gets hit in her "soft spot", which is the same guy, she will suddenly go into the quiet-modest-blushy mode. (In short, a bitch on the outside, but really cute girl on the inside)

Yandere is usually a normal girl on the surface, but then something might crack in her head, and she ends up tearing up the guts of everyone who was unlucky to get caugh in her rage. (In short, cute girl who becomes a psychopath at the times)

Deredere is... well... just a horny girl (as I understand it).

Wrong section sis.

I love that graph Zuly posted.

Tsudere is loving you and pretending they hate you. The type you have 'win over'.
Yandere is delusionally, obsessively loving you. Like a Stalker person who doesn't realize that's a BAD TOUCH.
Kuudere/Dandere: Defrosting Mrs. Spock.
Yangire: Just plain psychotic.

TV Tropes is good for this stuff. Here you go:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tsundere

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Yandere

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Kuudere

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Dandere

"dere" basically means lovestruck, or something to that effect.

"Tsun" means cool, aloof. Tsundere goes between cool and mean to warm and loving.

Kuudere is part "cool" and "dere." Basically someone who covers up their dere side with a cool facade. But different from a tsundere, because rather than being confrontational and maybe even violent, they'll be dismissive and whatnot.

Dandere stands for danmari-dere, which is a girl who is usually silent but dere when her love interest is around. Sometimes related to those quiet, emotionless girls.

There's debate over that. Some people say she's Tsundere (towards Kyon) but other people claim she's just an energetic, sociopathic jerk-type girl and thus does not really fit into any of the sub-categories. (Not all characters will all of the time...which is a good thing, really. :3)

Nah, they will always. Overprotective fans try to take their characters out of the categories, but there will be one for them for sure.

Bitch. Nah, just kidding. I don't think she belongs in this category, just like Nika already said. .... What exactly is she? I guess she's god.

What's so funny about someone that does not admit their love for you?

I mean, they are cute when they happen to others, I'd not want it for me.

People often argue against Haruhi Suzumiya being Tsundere, but her last...spoiler? She's rough with Kyon in a very non-"you're the one I like so I'm dominating you" sort of way, but very indifferent. Which is why Kyon doesn't understand if she likes him or is just a bossy club person.

I don't know if I accidentally posted spoiler or not but I tried.

She isn't really tsun though. Her dominating persona is not a rejection as much as it is that she's got better things to think about. ...Like wanting to help out with homework, O cruel sociopath god. She's not willfully more cruel, violent or arrogant towards Kyon than anyone else, and her attitude towards Kyon doesn't seem to be about denying her love, it's just the kind of person she is. A borderline sociopath.

I don't think hiding one's love is sufficient for tsundere, or nearly all of those shy wallflowers would be tsundere.

also, topic moved.

The point of a tsundere is not just hiding feelings of affection, it specifically that she swings between two extremes. And usually, tsunderes are the opposite of a wallflower, because they have that violent side, and will usually stand up for themselves.

Either she's incredibly mean and grumpy to the world, and the love interest brings out a mushy side. (Which she will deny.) (Louise and Shana are prime examples...Louise is an extremely example in that the violence she inflicts on her love interest is basically full on abuse...)

Or she is generally sweet, and it's usually her love interest that brings out her hidden violent side. Which might frustrate even her. (Kagome would be like that, she's nice to everyone and then tells Inuyasha to sit if he even looks at her wrong.)

I don't see Haruhi acting explicitly dere at any point. Sure, she's willing to listen to Kyon more than anyone else, but like I said, I don't really see the dere. Mostly the tsun.

No, Naruto is not a wallflower. This applies to girl characters, not guys.

Guys can be tsundere too, but it's very, very rare. You can check the links on the first page for examples. Naruto probably isn't one, however.

Oh, I'm pretty sure it can apply to guys as well. There's even a Tsundere guys group here at the site.

The only thing really getting in the way of this classification is the gender role of gatekeeping. Whereas Tsundere behavior is a gatekeeping and therefore feminine seeming behavior. So not only was it started with women, people tend to associate it more with women because they associate sexual and romantic resistance with femininity and sexual and romantic assertiveness with masculinity.

But I don't think that prevents men from being Tsundere. It's just not what's prescribed to men as much. A Tsundere man would be perceived as a little more feminine and a Tsundere woman would be perceived as a little more normal. Obviously, knowing me, that means I'd like to see a lot more Tsundere males, just for the gatekeeping aspect.
