Why can't we edit genres on anime series pages?

As you can see you can edit anything but genres, and I find this weird. I want to request a change to this anime, which despite it's obvious it's a sports anime, it's missing in the genres.

If there's a rule that normal users cannot edit genres then that's new to me, so I hope a higher up sees this and edit it.
