LOL I'll say :) Candidate for MOST FUCKED UP TWIST IN AN ANIME EVER My favourite episode so far for me, and the most whacked out, craziest episode I have seen in a long, long time - this episode is beyond superlatives |

"Mimi ga... Mimi ga nai!" Bodily disfiguration (like main character death) is a rarity in anime, which makes it all the more striking how cool this was. It was obvious, in retrospect, that this entire arc was written towards this end, but nobody saw it coming. I, too, had no idea as to what Kaiji did until he took the towel off. After that ... well, even Tonegawa and the Yakuza were shocked. Personally, the best part of this scene will come in the later episodes, when Kaiji has to deal with the absence of his left ear (e.g. for the rest of his life). This just became a work of art independent of the psychological tension which made Akagi. My respect for Kaiji as a character just went up a level. I've now seen that he's not only willing to fight for survival, but to make very real sacrifices for the sake of his pride (and that of Ishida and Sahara). Probably the best wounded warrior in anime. |

I've got to be honest, with the cliffhanger episode 19 left me with, I could'nt just wait for Triad to take their time and sub it. And, I think I've done the right thing. The moment Kaiji got out of the restroom with the towel on his head, simply made me think what had he done with the huge mirror shard, for it to bleed that profusely, I initially thought he had pierced his head and made a huge scratch on the side of his head. My jaw simply dropped when there was no evidence of his ear. The reaction of those around Kaiji was just like what you'd expect from normal people. Kaiji has now officially raised to the level of Akagi. Also, that let me wishing for subs to fully understand it all. : < Best episode ever, hands down. And got a slight boost from 9 to 10 in my ranking. God, the world needs more shows like these ones. Edit: After watching the subs, Tonegawa got royally owned this time around, now for Episode 21 and see what Kaiji is planning to do. Modified by Massaki, 02-24-08, 9:02 PM |

I had a smile in my face for half the episode. That was when i didn't know that Kaiji didn't have his ear anymore. When it was revealed Kaiji completely tore of his ear, my jaw dropped. Then my smile came back and i was maniacally laughing for the rest of the episode. I'm stunned at the amount of madness and badassness Kaiji just displayed. I can't imagine the pain he went through to take that thing off... Kaiji is now at the same level as Akagi, if not higher. This episode made me shiver as much as the last episode of Akagi. Guess i'm not the only one who raised their rating of this show to 10... Damn, i hope the last few episodes of the show remains that awesome. |

Looks like he's using his blood to mark up the cards for the final round. I can't wait to see how this works out. |

Shits awesome, though I kinda figured he'd cut off his ear when he picked up the glass shard. Still, how he acted like he lost was priceless. I need the next episode nao. |

Wow, this episode was amazing... I thought he just cut himself enough to throw off the sensors, not chopping off his whole ear and making some poor guy hold it (!). Completely insane. Despite all his boasts and attitude, Tonegawa clearly doesn't understand the symbolism of the Emperor and Slave. Something tells me he will pay dearly as a result... |

Wow, I swear I had my jaw dropped for a good portion of this episode. Kaiji is now officially insane enough to hold his own against Akagi. As badass as Akagi was, he never chopped off his own ear! I don't know how they could possibly top this episode, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them try. |

Wow, that was definitely the best episode of Kaiji in a long time. Just when I was starting to be disappointed with the arc, Kaiji throws another crazy twist into the mix. |

Wow, this episode was off the charts!! Kaiji is such a noble individual in that even when he is cutting his own ear off he is still thinking about his fallen friends. Now it is more apparent then ever why I named Kaiji the best show of last year and also named Kaiji (the character) the best character of last year. I wonder how pissed off the chairman will get if Tonegawa loses the last round to Kaiji? |

Oh wow, Kaiji for Saigar. He's actually ruining Tonegawa's life. Best episode since 13-14. Oh wait... Only 6 left ;_; I DEMAND second and third season.
