It was never really charting well at any point and never made the Oricon top 10 even one day during it's release week so it doesn't really come as a surprise. |

Blu Ray + DVD *5,772 *5,772 High School DxD BorN Vol.2 *3,935 *3,935 Shinmai Maou no Testament Vol.6 Slight increase in first week sales for DxD BorN, weird but most certainly welcome. Shinmai's slight drop continues but not by a huge amount, roll on BURST! Fab to see KanColle and Yahari up there as well, all 4 should hopefully come in the next week or so (praying they get through customs). Glad the KanColle volumes are done as they take up a fair bit of room. Lastly also fab to see Cinderella Girls up there again, fantastic series and the 2nd Season is just magnificent, hoping that will continue the great sales when it releases. |

Shigatsu still selling good. Looking forward for Sidonia, Shirobako and Jojo sequel. |
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion. http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30 It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist. |

Think it has a good chance of hitting at least No Game No Life numbers. And it gets released 2nd Sep which is today. |

Compared to other high profile studios like Shaft, KyoAni or A1 Pictures, Madhouse disc sales is not great, pathetic even. Death Note is released in 2006,while Cardcaptor Sakura on 1999.Mahouka and NGNL sold well but they did not hit more than 10k. To assess the MH curse, just look at the three latest anime sales that MH produced.. Parasyte, Death Parade and Ore Monogatari considering the acclaim they had, sold less than 1k |

Death Parade is an original anime, those usually don't do great because they don't have an established fanbase. Parasyte is an old manga adaptation, and the manga was boosted from the anime and live action so it really doesn't matter if it has disc sales or not. There is no ''curse'', nor does this matter to the studio's finical situation. It's just ignorant idoicy spread around by people like yourself to elevate Madhouse. How someone can be a fanboy of studio is beyond me. |

To assess the MH curse, just look at the three latest anime sales that MH produced.. Parasyte, Death Parade and Ore Monogatari considering the acclaim they had, sold less than 1k I fucking love that these three are always seen as the high profile studios. Western anime fans have some really skewed views. Anyway so much of that has to do with the kinds of titles released and how they appeal to collector fans. All three of those studios do a lot of really commercial moe stuff that is expected to appeal to collectors. Madhouse does a whole lot more in terms of variety including a lot of day time stuff. The only other studio there that comes even close to daytime stuff and variety is A--1 and I'm really hesitant to call them high profile or even really a studio since they largely just operate like an animation factory for popular titles that aside from some producers is almost entirely mercenary and work for hire. They've only been around like a decade at that and have one truly stand out original IP in that time in Anohana. That said all three seem really ridiculously popular and trendy on MAL for some reason so maybe that's what you're getting at, but in general Madhouse is far more storied and we'll known with many international hits throughout the decades. @rederoin: Considering people seem to think that Kyoani is somehow the only studio ever that has run an original IP cause its like one of the three studios people seem to pay attention to along with the other two the guy above me mentioned I'd suggest not over complicating things for people too much just yet. Wait for them to accept and understand what original IPS are and who is actually rolling them then deal with that. Essentially what I'm saying is come back to that in a year or two maybe. |

How someone can be a fanboy of studio is beyond me. true but you cannot blame people from speculating on how Madhouse went bankrupt years ago and was just saved and bought by a TV network now A-1 isn't backed by Sony they are literally a 100% subsidiary of their music division. Madhouse being subsidized by a TV studio isn't necessarily a bad thing though it pretty much ends their run at IPs. I'd argue Sunrise is in one of the best positions because they're owned and funded by Bandai Namco Group but still get to act semi-autonomously and even pursue and develop their own IPs. If there's a major downside to their operation right now it's that they've sucked extremely bad at getting Western fans to pay any attention to or support their output for like 10 years now with the heyday of their shows Gundam Wing, Big O, Cowboy Bebop and Inuyasha just killing it on Cartoon Network. Actually the reason I first got interested in that particular studio is back when I was in high school they were about the only studio whose shows would air on Canada TV largely uncut and with the original dialogue and music intact because they leaned into the Western companies at the time saying that if they were going to license it out that it had to be done their way which was a huge difference from companies like Toei who would just license out anything and everything to companies like 4Kids and Saban Entertainment to do whatever the hell they wanted with. What kept me interested in them after I moved on to internet streaming formats is pretty well highlighted in this video since I like this approach and it feels like nobody else in the industry is really doing it right now to this level: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpfAa7SFgfU |

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me |

A1 Pictures is a relatively new studio if you look at the founding dates, they just have more money since they are back by Sony Entertainment EverydayIfight said: There is no ''curse'', nor does this matter to the studio's finical situation. It's just ignorant idoicy spread around by people like yourself to elevate Madhouse. How someone can be a fanboy of studio is beyond me. true but you cannot blame people from speculating on how Madhouse went bankrupt years ago and was just saved and bought by a TV network now A-1 isn't backed by Sony they are literally a 100% subsidiary of their music division. BD/DVD releases which ranked outside the preliminary/partial list yesterday. Anything within the Top 100, will have their exact sales known in the Thursday night/Friday morning full list. Anything else will get sales from the Oricon extended list, provided it hasn't sold incredibly low, which means it would have no known lower bound (except 0).
