It would be great if Sayaka was the primary focus of Madoka series

Come on, the show is obviously *really* about a young violin prodigy, his miraculous recovery from an accident, finding love with a green-haired girl and then passing the audition! A wonderful feel-good story that shows if you work hard enough, you can make it!

Sayaka is definitely one of the highlights of the show, but all of the girls stand out, except for Mami. The characters are the best part of PMMM anyway.

It just occurred to me: over the course of the series Homura kills Madoka, Madoka kills Mami, Mami kills Kyoko, Kyoko kills Sayaka, Sayaka kills... two scumbags on a train. Admittedly the first four are mercy killings, in a way - but still, Sayaka is the only girl who never kills another Magical Girl.

That's because Sayaka is good, kind, and well behaved girl who always put other people before her own well being.

Not to mention her girlfriend never waste food.

Others could learn a thing or two from her.

Sayaka more or less is the main character, up until she ends up dead and the story continues on without her.

Then we see Homura has been been masterminding everything she does, and she becomes the best in the show by a landslide.

Homura is my favorite character by far, but let's be fair here.

She ruined her life (8-10 years of it, in fact) over a girl.

And after Rebellion, she obviously wanted to be "More than friends" even if she didn't understand those feelings at the time.

Sayaka seems awful in hindsight, but she (and everyone else) only ever got to experience things once

Hindsight is always 20/20. And when you've gone through events 100 times, your hindsight gets pretty damn good.
