| Hayama BEAST mode. He's going to be one tough rival. Shiomi lol She reminds me of Rika from Haganai, both wear pony tails, lab coats and glasses. Megumi sometimes ticks me off. Like I get that she's nervous and all but why downgrade yourself and give Yukihira all the credit during the street Shokugeki battle. |

| Hayama seems like an interesting rival. It's too bad, in a way, that he and Souma are opponents. Souma could probably learn a lot from him. At least he's aware that he's lacking in this aspect of cooking. I'm not sure if we can expect everyone in Polar Star to get through this one. I don't think much of the other newly introduced characters yet. |

| Episode 19 : Vol. 5, Ch. 39-Vol. 6, Ch.41[mid] | Ch. 44[mid]-46[beg] It's so weird to see Isshiki in clothing. HAHA. So I kind of thought that all of the Elite Ten were to figure out who were going to compete in the Autumn Elections but it seemed like the last three were. I guess the others are too good to do this work, huh? HAHA. OH. So I guess that all of the girls are in the Election in the anime right off the bat. SOOO. I just remembered that Eizan said that he wasn't a chef but he's at the school. Are there students that aren't students but relate to the food business that are in this school? There's the host girl and she's going to be at the Autumn Elections, too, but is she a cook? HMMM. HOW EXCITING. To see our characters being grouped in Group A and B. HAHAHA. To think that they could be the next Elite Ten. OOOO. OMGGGG. THE GIRL IN SHIOMI'S LAB IS SO ADORABLE. OMGGG. MY HEART. HAHAHA. BAAHAHA. BOOM. PUNCHED IN THE FACE. OOOH. And she knows hot cinnamon boy, too. HAHA. Ryo and Alice are so freakin' adorable. ohhh, Jun and cinnamon boy work so well. This synergy. She makes theories and he cooks them up. That's amazing. I totally ship them even though she's pop's age. Is Hayama supposed to be Indian? He's cooking all of those curry dishes and that has got me thinkin'. HAHA. Man. Tadakoro and Yukihira totally look like kids compared to a lot of the other high schoolers. Hayama is also a first year but looks like an adult. That also reminds me of the flashback to when the grownups were adults. Doujima and Jouichiro totally look and sound like adults already. |

| This anime turned out to be addicting to watch. I can't stop. It also makes me wanna learn how to cook more professionally haha. I LOVE SPICES, stoked for what's next. I hope megumi makes it through the prelims |

| A lot of new characters were given the spotlight for the Autumn Elections and some of them who were previously shown like Hojo and Hayama are now given formal introductions~ Everyone's focusing on finding ways to make a curry dish that will cement their place into becoming culinary legends so Soma decided to bring Megumi along to go to a curry specialist who was a member of Polar Star during its Golden Age. Little did Soma know about the things his father had put her through though. It's not like it's the first time I've seen it but a 34-year old woman being that small and childlike is both jarring and adorable. Hayama's upbringing, proficiency with all things curry-related, and impressive smelling capabilities pretty much makes him a surefire winner of the preliminaries but Soma still wants to take him on with his very own dish very soon. |

| Nice little transition episode to the beginning of the Autumn Election with the Qualifiers on the horizon. Was good seeing Hayama (in a time when his character wasn't ruined to pieces) and Shiomi in this episode discussing about spices as the theme will be a curry dish for the Qualifiers. This season was really good with introducing multiple rivals that could easily contend with Soma for a lengthy duration, I just wish the future seasons didn't just nullify half of them and ruin the others with bad writing later on. But that's later on, at least for this season its great. |
