According to Kodansha, Ishikawa Masayuki's manga Moyashimon was announced to get a live action TV drama adaptation. It will be aired in Noitamina in 2010. This is the first live action program to be aired in the block, which was originally intended for anime. Source: Evening magazine official website Modified by dtshyk, 12-07-09, 8:03 AM |

Will only accept if they do it on the setting the anime was inspired in. At least it has natural randomness all around... ![]() Waratte Oemashou Sore ha Chiisana Inori |

I wonder if they'll add all the sexual fan service to the live action. |

ITT: people who didn't see the Nodame Cantabile adaptation That may be true, but it is a fact that most anime fans have suspect taste when it comes to live action stuff. They dislike anything that isnt 2D you see! "I'm starting to think mal is run by Xinil generating electricity on a bicycle." - idklol |

Why can't they just do an animated sequel? |

I want a real anime sequel no matter how good the drama turns out to be. bla bla bla The endless debate between fans and haters. Let's sum this up. noitaminA has Nodame Finale slated for this winter, Yojohan Shinwa Taikei this spring, Saraiya Goyou pending... yet another project is announced? That's fairly surprising, especially for a timeslot that usually took its sweet time to announce its series (sometimes mere weeks before the premiere). It almost makes me wonder if there are plans to expand noitaminA into a full one-hour block... though getting this Moyashimon drama as late as fall would still sound more likely. Thinking about it, a TV drama of Moyashimon should require plenty of animation anyway. Expect to get the exact same A. Oryzae as in the anime, at least. |

I tend to be skeptical of drama adaptations, but I think this series lends itself to it very well. There's a lot fewer fantastical abilities and the characters don't look out of the ordinary for everyday life. As for the microbes, it's already been shown how well they work as CG (and technically they are even in the animated shots), so I don't see an issue..... looking forward to it. |

Maybe this means we'll be getting the microbes like they are shown in the OP? that would be sweet. Depending on how they handle it, this maybe be quite interesting. |
