How many people would have escaped SAO if Kirito hadn't discovered Heathcliffs identity and defeated him

If Kirito hadn't discovered Heathcliffs identity and they had to beat Aincrads 100 floors how many (if any) players would have managed to survive that long and how long would it take to beat the game ?

I would imagine that everyone would eventually die because deus ex machina would've never happened and Kirito-kun would suffer the same fate.

But that's just me.
