I don't know if it has been reported before, but I have quite awkward problem:

On one of my PCs, with Win7 installed, MAL Updater works perfectly fine with any player.

However on the other PC I have Windows XP installed. And here it comes:

When I'm using MPC HC for playing anime everything is fine, but when i try to watch anime (eg. with rare format, unknown to MPC, or when MPC get the infamous audio-video desync) in VLC, MAL Updater doesn't recognize it as player ever since I downloaded VLC v2. It's even more puzzling, that I already tried to download older version of the player, which MALU worked before with, but it had no effect.

It's minor bug since I can always watch anime in MPCHC, but it's still annoying when I try to use the other one.

Is it a common problem, or it has just happened to me? It it possible to fix it in near future?

I'm having the same issue, it keeps saying Another isn't in my list, while it is, in fact, on my list, both on MAL and on the updater. I'm not sure what you mean with the tag, otherwise I'd try it :P Well, I have already watched it, and it started after I finished it, I don't even have the option to try to re-add it to my last, so i'm not getting the add call failed error.

Most likely your antivirus is blocking MALU from accessing VLC memory to retrieve the file being played.

I was away studying in Japan for a month, and when I came back, MAL Updater only loaded my manga list; my anime list in MAL Updater is blank.

I'm using MAL Updater 2.8, on Windows 7, it's worked just fine until now.

Hmm, torrent plugin doesn't work for me, for 2 or 3 days. Does everybody have this issue?

What are the chances of implementing Nyaa instead of TT for the torrents plugin?

Sup, nyaatorrents is identical to TT, so if we have both of them in MALU, will be good.

I can't get MALu to recognize Crunchy streaming via FF, is there something I have to do aside enable recognition from FF+crunchy?

Hi. Today i saw that there is a new update and i tried to update it, but at about 80% it shows me error : "MoveFire failed: C:\Users\MiFOE\AppData\Local\Temp\MalUpdater.exe to D:\Programs\Mal Updater 2\MalUpdater.exe"

I uninstaled it and the instaled it again but it gives me the same problem. :[

Try running malu as admin, and disable antivirus if you got any.

Thanks, it was the stupid BitDeffender... this is the first time it has problems with MALu O_o >.<.

It's probably due to the new exe packer/relocation stripper, some AV are getting false possitives with it.

F-Secure recognizes the latest update as a virus "Gen:Variant.Kazy.26586". It's clearly FP but it would be nice if you could fix it.

Edit: Definitelly needs fixing as MAL updater is literally unusable in the current state.

Is it just me, or are other people not able to use MAL updater right now? Like there's no working Application for it for me :T

I was able to get the update to install after my AV nuked my previous install with the update. I can run the updater but The program keeps saying "Error setting autorun: Failed to set data for 'Mal Updater 2' " when I open or close the program.
Same error when running as admin. Also, when clicking past that message, the program can no longer log on.

As soon as I updated, the application could no longer launch. I keep getting the "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file" message.

after updating it early in the morning it says the same thing and it also says unsupported 16-bit application
malupdater.exe cannot start or run due to incompatiblity with 64-bit version of windows.

My MALU is dead. It has been recognised as a malware. This issue has started from today after the resent update released in 27th July, 2012. I rely heavily on MALU to update my anime and the utorrent feature to get my anime as I am out almost everyday. Will there be a fix? Thanks.
