Sorry I know this is for manga and anime but don't know where else to put this....

I am looking for light novels or fan fictions with non human main character and or building elements; dungeon building, city building etc

LN / FF I have read with building elements

Master of Dungeons

There could be a few more that I have forgotten but you get the jist of what I like

Ame no Hi no Iris and Koori no Kuni no Amarillys both have androids as MCs.
Biscuit Frankenstein has an "undead" as MC.

BTW, this board is ALSO for LN so you're posting in the right place. Anything with "manga" on it is also for LN (so manga discussion= manga& LN discussion)
Because LN on MAL are in your mangalist so it's in the same place due to this.

Andeddo, I doubt you will find much help here. Try the chat in RRL. The people there usually give good suggestions. (I also hang around there, usually)

I don't have specific recommendations but if you're looking for fanfic two of the big sites are fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own.

The former is older, doesn't allow explicit content beyond a certain point, and has more anime and manga based fanfic on it. The latter does allow explicit content of all sorts, is generally better for finding things, and has a lot of western TV related fic (BBC Sherlock, Doctor Who, Supernatural, etc.).
