What is this/who is it for?
This is NOT for lists. It is for advanced CSS users who prefer to edit their lists directly through the code. Now edit the rest of MAL through a CSS code! This a Stylish theme that lets you customize your view for every non-list page on MAL like shown above (including the forum, clubs, and profile pages).
If you're not an advanced CSS user, or want to try easier ways to customize the MAL forum, club, and profile pages- then try my separate Easy Stylish themes and add-ons listed on this page, any level of user will be able to use those: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=453219
This code will make it possible for you to: * add new CSS selectors and codes to edit the MAL forum, club, and profile pages
* add a custom background
* add/remove custom characters on the side of the page
* add a custom banner
* create space at the top of the page for your banners
* remove the default MAL logo
* remove the newly added footers and/or links on the upper right
* restore the Profile link that was removed in 2015
* recolor the orange bubble that appears when you get messages and invites
Best of all it is compatible with other popular Stylish themes (Dark theme, Colorful theme, etc) - so you can add the background you want, remove things that annoy you, and still use those themes with no interference!
Note: you can also install Stylish through a link on the theme's install page, with the link on the blue button (click here to see the link, its circled).
3. After clicking the button, you're done! Now you can customize the code by clicking the Stylish icon on your browser bar and Editing my style in your browser. There are simple instructions in the code, but if you need specific help and examples of what you can do, see below!
How to open up the code to edit it
1: After installing my Stylish theme (see above), click the Stylish icon in your browser bar, as shown here:
2: Once you clicked it a menu should open up, in Firefox right-click the theme (Easy Styler) and then click the edit button, and in Chrome click the Edit button next to the theme you want to edit (Easy styler in this case). Visual examples below:
Note: Make sure the Stylish theme is always checked as seen here. If you accidentally left-click the Stylish theme and turn it off, just click it again to turn the Stylish theme back on. As long as its checked, it will be on when you visit MAL!
3: A new tab will open up and you can edit the code then make this and other changes with the instructions in the code! Make sure when you're done making changes, click the Save button at the top of the page.
The save button is on the upper left of the page you're editing the code, as circled in the examples below depending on what browser you're using. When you view MAL again, the changes you wanted should be up. If not make sure you have the Stylish theme checked as shown in step 2 or ask here (please post your Stylish code if you do)
How to make the changes you want
After opening up the code with the instructions above, scroll through the code and read the notes to find the part you want to customize. There, you can make changes and add new codes.
Remember: this is for users who are used to editing their layout list code directly through the CSS code. You might be better off using the easier themes found on this page to customize specific things like adding a background: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=453219
How to get codes for parts you want not shown in the code
You can ask here, but the fastest way to use the Inspect Element in Firefox, target the spot you want to edit, and then in the Inspect Element menu (on the left side) find the shaded part of your code and choose "Copy unique selector". This should give you the selector for that part, which you can insert into the Stylish code and customize.
Where to get more characters for the side and backgrounds?
Problems?
You can ask here and see if someone can help you - but you should also see if any of the easier themes on this page make it simpler for you: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=453219
MAL added a gray footer for when you're logged out, but I've updated this code to remove that too. It must be reinstalled, or you can rip the code from the source page (click View CSS).
