| The manga is excellent, but I'd recommend starting from the beginning, to get used to the art-style. |

| The problem will not be the art since it's nothing short of great ever since the new arc begun (besides the one above, you also have panels like this ) No the problem is that there are only ten chapters beyond where the anime left most of which is build up. Come back in a year or two. |

| Togashi's art is detailed when putting effort into his own work. That is all. And I don't mean detailed as in Berserk, Vagabond or JoJo-tier. It's style is simplistic but at the same time, Togashi makes it clear what is happening. He has very good orientation when placing the manga panels and the pages fit one with another just fine. Though, just because a few minorities are more detailed than another, doesn't mean it's good. Especially not that panel you just posted. It's a clusterfuck. By the end of the day, Togashi's simpler pages are the best. |
Even then, Togashi isn’t much of an artist. He does have some good scenes though. That being said, this image is not the one that should be used in his favor. It’s really basic and pretty poorly done considering the bad anatomy and proportions. Wait, which anatomy or proportions are you talking about? These are fictional creatures. And what are you even basing these (Anatomy and proportions) on? Real life? Because then you wouldn't be judging the art quality but rather the artstyle which has nothing to do with how well the panel is drawn but just your personal preference (like how some people just find the artstyle in Jojo ugly no matter how detailed are the panels). To make myself clearer, I will substantiate with this other example: something like One Piece has an unorthodox artstyle (the body proportions of females are light years from being realistic), does that make the art bad by default? |
