This one or the old one?

Hello guys

I am planning to watch this show except I noticed there is a very old version of it. Is it Ok to start watching the 2012 ver. without watching the 90s ver.? I mean is it gonna affect the story line or the new one is a remake/spin off?

I've seen the new and old versions and I think the new version is better. It's more complete and not as rushed.
