Positive place to talk?

I'm not exactly new to the site, but I'm only recently getting more active in the social aspect of things here. However I'm struggling to find a positive and friendly place to talk with other people. It would be really nice to have that on days where things aren't going too well. Does anyone know of a good forum or club where I might find what I'm looking for?

(Also I acknowledge this is not really the intended use for this specific forum, but I also think it might be good for any new comers that want the same thing to see this.)

Yeah I only recently ventured outside of the Recommendation threads, and I've learned the hard way that might not have been the best idea in some cases...

I've looked around art various clubs dedicated to my interests (like Mahou Shoujo, music, and rpg gaming) but mist tend to be very inactive. Honestly I'd just love an overall friendly environment here, regardless of the subject pretty much.

how about MAL IRC channel http://myanimelist.net/irc/ sometimes they talk personal things there as far as i remember

Usually chat clubs or the so called "Cafes" are really nice and friendly places.

From my personal and only experience that I have with those, Monia's Cafe is a pretty friendly and nice place itself.

Honestly it's probably just the best to just bounce around until you find yourself a home. Just keep checking the last comment or last post. Every club has their good group to talk to but of course this is a forum site and the internet so finding a pure positive place to talk is close to impossible. What is more important is finding that small group of people that you can really feel comfortable with.

I did look at that one, but felt a bit intimidated. It seems like there's an already large, well defined community and I would have trouble fitting into it. (I sound so pathetic I'm sorry...)

Well, not like I can't see where you're going with this.

Though if it's a no-go, searching for a smaller club or even making your own as KittyLickingPaw said it's not a bad idea.

I'm going to try and see what happens. No harm in it really. Plus I'll look into what it takes to create a club effectively. Thank you for the help!
