| You niggas need to study the cognitive functions in order to get the best result. The tests that only focus on the dichotomies are shit. The cognitive functions are the meat of the MBTI. Ideally you shouldn't take those tests at all, but reach a conclusion based on the information that you've gathered yourself. I tend to get either ENTP or ESTP, even when I do the cognitive function tests. I try to steer away from the quizzes, though. I'm not sure which I'm most like. Some people have guessed that I'm an ENTP, and I think having someone else type you leads to more accurate results. Given that they know their shit. |

| Miggs-Bryer is like the horoscope of personality tests. It's a bunch of bullshit, and all parts of it that are true aren't accurately displayed through tests that people do. I always test INTP, but if I HAD to fit into a category my personality is closer to ENFP than anything else. People are more complex than this, these traits are not all opposites so there is missing categorical information, and on top of that the tests aren't even accurate. It just isn't scientific and I don't live my life based on things that are spiritual. When someone asks for my miggs-bryers or displays it on their profile, I judge them the same way when someone asks for my symbol or talks about astrology on their profile. Because it's the same exact thing. "Here's generalized information anyone can relate to, and here are generalized ways to make decisions in your life so you don't have to think as much". |

| Any system that tries to group people into neat categories like this is bound to set off my bullshit alarm. I first encountered this particular system many years ago, and it seems to have become very popular on the web. After answering just a few simple questions, you can figure out your type. It is so neat and tidy - far too neat and tidy, in my opinion. In my case, the average of various test results over the years would indicate that I am borderline INFP/INTP, with N always at or near 100%. This simply confirms what I have always known anyway - I am a detached weirdo who lives inside my own head. Elements of the type descriptions make sense, but if this system is useful in any way, it is only useful as a data point or perhaps a starting point for deeper discussion and exploration. There are people who allow themselves to be defined by their four-letter code; this cannot possibly be healthy. |
