I did! Watching too much every day wasn't very healthy for me and ultimately I burned myself out. I took a break from anime for around 3 years since it was impossible for me to finish even a single episode anymore. It was not a bad choice since it helped me concentrating on other activities and be more active in general.

What does this even mean?

tired of watching anime and need a break from it

It's pretty normal since we periodically have topics like this.
You could try something different: OVAs, shorts, old anime etc...

Yesterday. I was getting caught up on everything I needed to finish before the spring lineup starts, and boy are my eyes bleeding.

All the time, most recent was earlier this year for about 2 months. It helps a lot if you dont watch many currently airing anime at any given time.

I haven't watched anime since January 17th. If that means anything.

Like this?

Yeah, but it should only happen once before you learn to pace yourself.
Everything in moderation...

No, not really. I mean, there are times when I stop watching anime for a few weeks, but I always come back and keep going. I try not to let myself get to the point of a burn out.

after watching wolf children and mirai nikki i've decided that i need a break from anime
i need to recollect my mind

usually when an anime is really odd or different. or 2 seasons are trash: its a sign for break time

Yeah I get it all the time. Sometimes I feel all fired up and ready to watch, then after I'm burnt out completely.

I'm actually just getting out of mine. I found a little short to watch (Yama no Susume), that was relaxing but still interesting. Now I'm switching to Ghost in the Shell lol.

Well that HxH 2011 greatness caused an extreme burnout for a while. Anime that make me cry also burn me out.

several times I guess
I don't think it was from watching too much, just watching too many shows I didn't end up liking then I lost interest.. (which is pretty normal I'd say)
taking a break now and then only helps so that you don't lose interest in the long run, also sometimes there's stuff that you have to focus on (studies)

No, but I don't watch anime every day, and some days I will only watch just one episode.

If I don't feel like watching anime, I won't. Its no big deal.

not so much were I don't WANT to watch anime, rather just have too many other commitments now so anime unfortunately isn't one of the high priorities! but when I do manage to watch episodes I actually enjoy and appreciate it much more than I did when I first started watching in the first place!

Yes, for a couple of weeks every year or so. Watching a variety of anime in a variety of ways staves it off. Though every once in a while I feel like doing something else for a while, playing a game, watching American TV, etc.

I sometimes have burnout for about a couple months, then I'll get back into anime. Depends on the series that I had watched.

^ Pretty much.

It's more likely to happen if I see a bunch of really crappy anime in a row. I still rewatch my Blu-rays and DVDs pretty often, though, the burn-out applies more to trying new anime.

I have before, generally only lasted a couple of weeks. I just couldn't be bothered to keep up with some series.
