How Ruby Jones found out about Kaito Kid's real idetitiy? :/ (contain spoilers)

Did anyone not understand what December's birthstone is malachite in France had to do with Kaito's real identity. I mean does that mean that June's birthstone in Japan is Malachite? So with that she understood that he were kaito kid? :/ Can somebody plz explain. :)

During her conversation with Kaito, Kaito said that Malachite is the birthstone of December in France. That made Jones remember her conversation with Aoko where she made a mistake in assuming that Kaito's birthday is in December.

Malachite, if written in Japanese, is マラカイト, in which when said in romaji, it says 'ma ra KA I TO'.

I know I'm really late but I still don't get it. it only implies that Kaito was listening to their conversation, is it because Kaito Kid shouldn't have a reason to mention it unless he's Kaito Kuroba? /genq

It's quite interesting that she was able to deduce Kaito's identity because of the malachite. But in actuality (manga), the reason she found out was because she saw his face when she ripped his disguise right before the blackout. I'm not sure why they opted for her to figure out with the malachite (ma ra ka i to) and birthstones explanation when I believe it should have been easier to show a screenshot of her ripping the disguise but.. ¯\_( ツ )_/¯
