| Are we talking about anime labelled as ecchi or fanservice in anime? If it's the former, then what did you expect? If it's the latter, there are anime out there with little to no fanservice. MyAnimeList has a content rating system and labels for a reason. Plus with a search elsewhere you could get a general idea of what to expect. If something doesn't appeal to you, don't watch it. |

| Nudity and sex don't bother me, and they never have. People get too uptight over such things. So the fact that an anime is tagged "ecchi" isn't necessarily a reason for me to watch it or to avoid it. However, many series in this category are ridiculously stupid, and the scenes featuring nudity, panty shots, and the like are poorly executed or superfluous. Sometimes, it is so bad that it is funny, i.e. Eiken, while sometimes it is an unnecessary distraction, i.e. Rosario+Vampire. Very rarely, an anime series that features nudity and/or sexually charged imagery actually seems to work well; the only one that comes to my mind at the moment is Mnemosyne. While I certainly enjoy laughing at something that is impressively bad, I would like to see more ecchi or hentai that is well written and well executed. I feel like there is a lot of wasted potential in the genre. |

| It depends. If the show is just boobs and nothing else then I find it boring not because it's an ecchi, but because the plot is secondary to the fanservice which is annoying. But, if they do it right I don't really see it as degrading or anything like that. It's just another genre which can have both good and bad shows like anything else. |

| I tend to be very picky when it comes to watch a new anime. I, personally, dislike ecchi animes. Not that it makes me uncomfortable to watch, but it's just not the type of anime I look for or enjoy. I tried watching some anime tagged as ecchi, but after an episode or two I stopped, the story wasn't interesting enough nor the characters. |

| It actually really does, if ecchi is pretty much the whole plot, I don't find any reason to watch the anime. However, maybe that 1% of the time where the plot is really interesting and the ecchi doesn't overtake the plot then I would watch it. |
