| Following today's broadcast of Durarara!! x2 Shou, a PV revealed that Asumiko Nakamura's manga Doukyuusei will get an anime adaptation. Some staff members have been announced, with the main cast reprising their roles from the drama CD. The BL manga is one volume in length and was serialized in Opera magazine between July 2006 and July 2007. It received a sequel three months later, titled Sotsugyousei, which completed in August 2009 with two volumes. | Whaaat?? Color me surprised(and extreamly happy)! I would've never thought that this could get an anime adaptation! But I wonder that are they only adapting Doukyuusei since it's only one volume long? I would love to see an adaptation that also includes the sequels in it as a continuous story. Also I'm fine with A-1 because I like their slice of life adaptations (at least the ones I've seen) |

| I've been noticing this piece often in some form on the net, but I couldn't bring myself to get into it because of the art... However, if adapted to anime, that part may not be a problem anymore for me. First the news with Seven Days and now this (despite there not being that much material, it seems)! Things are going well for BL, I guess~ |

| Like some people may have mentioned I think this may end up being a film rather than a TV series. But it doesn't matter, I am super excited! I really hope they keep exploring the BL and yuri genres there's so much there that's just begging for more recognition. |

| Why am I not even surprised that people are losing their shit over something like this and calling it beautiful the way MAL seems to describe ever mediocre looking A-1 show where the first shot in the trailer is of a CGI fan. Man cannot relate to this fanbase anymore........like at all...and it's like I'm the only person who has literally never heard of this apparently amazing author of the source. I don't know I sometimes really do wonder if people are actually serious about their fervor for stuff like this. It's like hooray a fujoshi story...with Hiroshi Kamiya....again.....it's like I'm the only one that looks at this announcement and just laughs out loud. What scares me more is that people legitimately seem to think A-1 is some great studio bringing out great titles all the time these days when it's just so clear it's all a bunch of shameless commercial pandering. It just makes me very tired and weary every time they have an announcement like this to the degree it seems to make everyone else lose their freaking minds. Like I really truly wish I could get as excited as so many people seem to over stuff like this but nope...derisive laughter is the first emotion still.... |

I DON'T EVEN CARE IF ITS A TV SERIES OR NOT, I'M SO INSANELY HAPPY. Nakamura Asumiko!!!!!Though I think she was pretty popular before, didn't know she would get an adaptation!? Sotsugyousei is even more beautiful though, so I hope they adapt that too if this fares well. The style is perfect considering the art style, and I was worried how they would do it, but holy crap the animation and whole atmosphere of the PV was very suiting. Plus they're keeping the same VAs from the drama CD, which is a bonus since I thought they did a pretty good job. The PV was beautiful and breathtaking. I mean holy crap I'm so excited I'm jittering. This better be a full adaptation since the series is pretty short anyways. I think I'm actually going to cry! This has made my whole year!! Holy crap! And to those who don't understand the huge hype, it's Nakamura Asumiko. Throw out all your presumptions of BL (especially lustly crap because this is shounen-ai), because first of all, it's freakin' Nakamura Asumiko. Her stories are all unique. Most of her series are actually kind of abstract and dark. A happy one like this series is pretty rare. Secondly, it's a love story between two people (who happen to be guys). There's only a bit of kissing in the latter bit and its more about falling in love (without the melodrama). This is not Love Stage or Sekaiichi Hatsukoi which are poor, one-sided representations of the BL genre. |

Plus they're putting an emphasis on the atmosphere. The PV itself showed like 1 or 2 pages at most. |

I just read the first chapter and skimmed through he rest, but it doesn't look like enough for a full single cour. Maybe half a single cour even if they put emphasis on the atmosphere, any more and it'll just feel dragged out. |
