With recent technological advancements and the ever-continuing migration to mobile devices, you've probably noticed that podcasting has had a surge in popularity. Back in 2013, Apple reported that iTunes users had collectively accumulated a billion subscriptions to 250 million unique podcasts offered. In an Edison Research study performed in May of last year, it was found that Americans spent 1.7% of their audio consumption time on podcasts. A small figure, yes, but in perspective? That's a lot.

It's quickly becoming apparent that it will only keep growing as we move towards Wi-Fi ready cars and reality-enhancing wearables like Google Glass. What do you think of the newfound attention podcasting has garnered? Will it become a valued part of our day-to-day lives, much like radio or television?

I hope so.

I rarely listen to music these days whenever I head out, as I prefer to listen to the blabber of my favorite podcast hosts. My friends quickly turn away when I attempt to show them the wonderful chatter between host and guest from a specific podcast, but I am sure I'll convince them to pay attention someday.

For the older demographic those advancements might boost popularity.

I've been listening to the IGN AU Pubcast since they first started broadcasting in 2011. (on and off)

They're a really good boredom cure when you don't feel like doing shit. You just gotta shop around for one you like, or one you like might find you, who knows.

My brother listens to each new podcast of The Nerdist. I'll sometimes listen to it with him.

Other than that I don't listen to any podcasts.

I listen to my local sports radio.

No, I can't stand listening to some people talking for hours, even if it's about a subject I like.
