I found this episode significantly worse than the others it was nice to see other villages at first but the episode as a whole made me realize that my rating of this anime may very well rest on Yoko's shoulders. Though maybe this episode was just an anomaly and the rest will be just as enjoyable even if Yoko isn't present as much.
Not much to say about the episode itself, it seemed pretty much like every other anime that tackles strange religion, but I do appreciate the attention drawn to Yoko's sexy ass body. She's a work of art, that girl :3
I laughed when the weirdo called her out on her... ehem... risque outfit (or lack of one) :P
But hey, now we know why she dresses like she does - Freedom of movement! I don't know if i buy that but whatever - It's anime xD
"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."
pretty depressing episode and that priest is a jerk. I know he has to do it but he just so cold about it and I like how he gave zero reason for basically killing this kids mom. I was surprised how yoko didint notice how indecent her outfit was. I mean lady your boobs are flapping everywhere.
Despite not furthering the main plot (unless the son and girls become important), this was my favorite episode yet. The drama was better than I expected, thanks to the lack of silliness all of the previous episodes had. If it stays like this, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
@soul: It probably wasn't indecent where Yoko grew up. She seems pretty innocent to me. (Well, Kamina might be rubbing off on her a bit. Did you notice how long it took her to realize Kamina was being indecent in his thoughts of her body?) I feel bad for her, tbh.
This episode was ok. The 3 people joining their crew might be ok, but so far they seem like they are going to be annoying.
"I'll be reborn as a decent human being and spend eternity bound in noble and sublime love with Saeki OP"- Kasuga Takao "It is my perception that a true friend never relies on anothers dream. A person with the potential to be my true friend must be able to find his own reason for life without my help. And he should put his heart and soul into protecting his dream. He would never hesitate to fight for his dream, even against me. For me, a true friend is one who stands equal to me in all respects."- Griffith
That was a bit of a darker episode, still a good episode though. The first couple times that Kamina called the kid "forehead" I cracked up. Interesting art direction with this episode too, the grey worked well.
Wow a Gurreen Lagann epiosde with a bit depth to it? The whole story with the "village" and their chief was very interesting, however felt Kamina like a retarded asshole (even more than usual).
The black-white scenes and then going back to normal colors was a very nice idea to include.
