Nothing to do with whether guys fuck each other or not, but most of what I've tried watching lacked any substance and were mostly "look, this cute guy likes this other cute guy, root for them!". I did read some decent manga of guy love a while ago that actually tackled what it's like to go out with a guy as a guy in a society that's not as accepting of the fact. That's pretty much it, I guess. |

i dont hate yaoi. i hate the abusive relationships in it. and there's an awful amount of that in yaoi ngl. shounen ai is a bit better but it's still just..... i think mangakas really need to change the way their depict these relationships. people will get the wrong idea and i've heard a lot of 'fujoshis' say that they don't mind the abusive relationships and even want certain characters to get together despite being in a really unhealthy relationship because 'they fit together' and 'because it's love' lmao that's just fricked up and you need to rethink your life young ms |

Yaoi is either: Smut with a generic plot or a good plot with a few sex scenes. At least that's what I've noticed. The latter is much rarer though. As for bara, its all porn. As for shounen-ai, its just romance between two guys and if its tagged correctly, there should be nothing that is sexual or hentai like. God knows why Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsuloi are tagged as only shounen ai. |

Oh and also the fact that a lot of them have almost exclusively male casts, even including side characters there are few to no girls. That's a little hard to believe, why can't there be a balance? |

That's a little hard to believe, why can't there be a balance? That's the same as asking a harem anime or yuri anime to balance it out. They won't. As a girl, I think its refreshing to have all male casts from time to time when most anime are the opposite. What i dislike are stories that revolve around an all gay cast, which is somewhat unrealistic. |

The demand is still high and theres a large audience who actually like the traditional boy rapes boy formula. yeah i mean i get what they're doing but i wish they'd put the love and care in a relationship in the foreground. it's almost like yaoi fangirls have started to believe that possessiveness equals love. and i really dont think we need more of these stereotypes. i just wish they'd change it for the better some time. i feel like it has actually gotten worse than better in the past few years. that's why i'm not really into yaoi/shounen ai as much anymore even though i used to really enjoy it a while back. i mean i will still watch it but oftentimes i will get disappointed by it. :P Feaor said: Oh and also the fact that a lot of them have almost exclusively male casts, even including side characters there are few to no girls.
