Translated review (sorry it came a bit late): http://naomeapeteceestudar.blogspot.pt/2015/02/the-galaxy-railways.html

In this anime we follow the daily adventures of the group of people that protects the net of Galaxy Expresses, the galaxy railways, from various problems, from pirates to noisy falls on unknown planets. Unfortunately, unlike animes from the same group, this is very americanized, in such way that the concepts suggested by Leiji Matsumoto are not touched, not even closely. So, this anime with great potential is reduced to episodes with little philosophical interest, just normal adventures, like we've seen so many times.

Unfortunately I only found this anime in a low quality version, so I couldn't - certainly - appreciate the art correctly. However, it seemed to me that there was not a great detail in the illustrations of pace, which is the part that always captivates me more in animes set there. The animation of the trains makes a very evident use of CGI, that sometimes feels like a stone in your shoe.

The music is quite good, remembering the good times of the 70s, with a very epic and loud tune. There are moments that, motivated by it, become very emotive.

It's a quite average aime, with some strong elements, that I'd not recommend in the context of Leijiverse.
