| OP the fact that all 3 polls have a rather different % of people "not believing in evolution" should be a cause for concern. Typically when presenting polls it would be wise to research which one you deemed conducted the most "accurate" study, and use that one. Using multiple polls with varying results instead gives off the feeling that none of them are actually accurate. Furthermore I find myself questioning the validity of all 3 polls, of course I have no interest to look up how they got the numbers they did (i.e. what question did they ask, who did they ask, etc.), but it should be important to note (especially when trying to come off as "intelligent" or sneering at those looking down at science) that statistics are a rather large part of science (especially evolution which is actually supported in large part by statistics). |

Science proves that it is, so whether people believe in it or not is irrelevant. If you wanted to make a real religious beliefs vs atheist beliefs thread, you should have asked if you believed in Darwinism or something instead. It's still a shitty topic for an inevitable atheist circlejerk, but it's better than this one. |

There are some religious scientists who believe in evolution. The Catholic Church endorses theistic evolution and Buddhism supports it. | I dont believe in it as a fact but I dont reject it as false either. Long story short I simply dont know how we, the earth or the whole universe came to be. And to be completely honest I dont really care either. What does knowing it gonna change it anyway? When you find out that we came to be of evolution, or some advanced alien race created us, or that maybe our whole universe is just a highly advanced computer simulation, all you can do about it is say "Ah, cool." and move on with your life. |
| We did evolve. For heaven's sake, it's already proven that we have the same ancestors as the apes. NO, we DID NOT evolve from apes. We just have the same ancestor. Except we homo sapiens managed to evolve to become smarter and more progressive than our ape cousins. However, as an agnostic, I am open to the idea that God might exist. The universe is so big, guys. How was it created and all that........gosh, the question is just too big. For all we know, there might be someone behind the whole damn thing. |
