Does it get better?

So I watched the first 6 episodes and I am not really liking it all that much. I was mostly interseted in the Railgun series but I heard from friends that you should watch index before railgun. So my question is does Index get better or should I just give up on it and try railgun?

Also would not watching Index before Railgun affect anything?

Nah not that much. At least finish up the Sister's arc in Index before watching Railgun.

Railgun S' Sister's arc is more detailed and told in the eyes of Misaka that's why people say you should finish Index first.

Just watch Railgun.

Comes from someone that it tired of the complaints about Index because JC staff prefers to give its all only when moe girls are the Mcs.

Read this if you want to start the Fate/ series but don't know from where.

Is it even worth watching this - without reading the novels? (I don't plan on reading them. I'd prefer to use my time for fantasy novels set in a own fantasy world and preferably for stuff where no anime exists yet.)

I heard in season 2 it will get bad and season 3 even worse - while season 1 still is fine. And a recommendation compared it to Strike the Blood - which I liked. (Where the person that wrote the recommendation seemed to have preferred Index over Strike the Blood.)

So far the first 2 episodes seemed a bit boring. But then again for Strike the Blood (I really liked that anime) I found the first arc boring and only started to like it at episodes 4-5 later.

I guess I should give Index a try at least until episodes 5-6 or maybe 7 (according to some wiki the first arc is from episodes 1 to 5/6).

It gets better over time. I personally did not like it that much until I watched 2nd season
