Fantastic, of course, Macross Frontier is my favorite series. I thought they meshed it all together pretty well and it ended with some cool action. Just want more Ranka, but Sheryl really showed something too. |

Wow, that felt short for 2h movie. Great pacing. The story lacked though, no detail. I would've expected more from the title. Other movies manage to put more story into 90 minutes. Anyway, stunning visuals as always. I'm looking forward to the second movie. Hope the story will be better, should be, regarding the story. |

The only thing that made me sort of like the original series was how they managed to (more or less believably) make the whole "Galaxy controlling the Vajra" plot work out in the end. From some of Grace's responses near the end of the movie I'm thinking they'll change that plot into something different. Here's to hoping it won't be craptastic. As such I liked the movie so far, but it really depends on the second one and how they'll end the plot if my current opinion of it changes or stays as it is. I was seriously astonished by the animation fluency. Damn. I didn't pay attention to weird background stories like turning day into night, if you pay attention to that, then there's nothing to enjoy. Put your minds on zero and enjoy this epic awesomeness already. Because that's what this is. I loved the Macross Frontier series and this was a pretty nice recap without the annoying high school stuff. Plus new songs! And damn, giant Sheryl fanservice... Still, it fits with Sheryl. I felt more chemistry in the movie (at least coming from Ranka) to Alto, but also with Alto and Sheryl. Yeah, nice recap. Probably the only recap I'll ever like (and the next one). |

For a compilation movie, it was great. I expected to see a lot of old footage but was pleasantly surprised that over 90% of the footage was new. |

For me, the movie was better than the TV series. While I loved the series at the beginning, somewhere in the middle it started being mediocre. I expected the movie to be more similar to the TV series, but it had many differences. Including that Sheryl was accused as a spy or that she knew 'Aimo' - The story made better sense in here. Some parts however, were a little rushed, like we didn't saw the first encounter of Alto with Ranka, it jumped immediately that they knew each other from before. The animation was amazing, I just loved Sheryl's first entrance and her new costumes. I can't wait for the second movie now. |

Amazing! I can't find any appropriate word to describe how I feel after watching this movie! I'm already big fan of SDF Macross and Macross Frontier but WOW! I'm even bigger fan than before! I'm waiting for the second one now. First Premiere in february and then a DVD release!! |

Probably if you like Sheryl than Ranka then you'll also like this movie and if not then you'll probably hate it. Fortunately, I prefer Sheryl than Ranka as a character so I love this movie. Can't wait for the next one. |

That was beautiful. I definitely enjoyed it. I liked movie Sheryl version better than series version, so thank goodness. Hopefully the second installment will have more Ranka development since I love her to bits. |

Top tier animation...possibly the best I've ever seen, with the exception of a couple quality faces. Sheryl seems a tiny bit tsundere here, but it wasn't too bad. Overall good movie, though a few literally "huh?" moments prevented it from being a masterpiece - or as close to it as Macross will ever get. Which is pretty close, but its storytelling (while good) has never exactly been the stuff of legends. Music was great as always, but someone really fucked up on the mixing. I can understand the vocals being loud, since the two characters are actually singing, but the overly loud guitar sounded horrid and out of place. Lack of epic Aimo was lame. Overall worth the long wait to get my hands on this. Not exactly my favourite movie ever, but I'd recommend it to any fan of the series. |

Gilliam was even more useless than in the series. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌ Fuck yeah! Segway racing! So, anyway. Some parts were really inconsistent, mostly due to the time limit, I guess. Aaaand I'm guessing it'd be pretty hard to understand most of the story if I hadn't watched the series, so it doesn't really do a good job as a stand-alone alternate version. And too much Ranka, as always. And she was singing way too much. Negative comments aside though, I enjoyed seeing moar of mah Sheryl, and that alone is enough to watch this. Nice boat, btw. Oh and, Lion. Shut up Ranka, I'm trying to listen to Lion D: And what's up with the snow? Isn't that like more or less impossible? Unless it's ash or something. But ash doesn't melt >_> Anyway, with things as they are, I want the next movie to come out on bluray already. Edit: Mikhail survives. What is this I don't even. He'll die in the second movie, right? He can't possible survive. Modified by Oosran, 03-30-11, 1:29 PM Protip: I don't really check the forums anymore, so if you want something, take it on my profile. |

Awesome movie with pretty good pacing. It could have had more action, but that's easily forgiven by the fact that Sheryl made out with herself the nice concerts the great fighting that was there. |
