Post an album that you believe exemplifies its genre and is considered a classic within it's genre. Then everyone poops or agrees with you. I'll startLow end theory brought us out of the boom bap era and helped create modern rap music

I'll listen to that album now [ heard of the band, but actually never listened to nothing by them ]

Hm... not sure if they're considered classics, though they both perfectly exemplify and represent their own genres.

Mudhoney - Mudhoney | Genre : Grunge

TesseracT - Concealing Fate (live in studio) | Genre : Djent

Edit: listened it [ and also some other album ] and although not expert on that genre I liked it a lot. Especially the fact that it has funk/jazz elements also.

+1 for illmatic,

I also thought about this before bed and I have a few more albums I'd like to add.

This album represents modern rap, it has mainstream appeal but appreciates the past and has a few non "radio friendly" songs while also having a few that are more radio friendly such as swimming pools and Money Trees. Some songs are technical in the sense of rhymes and beat while others are very simple.

This is modern R&B no more nelly this is where we are at.

The lack of Mastodon and Gojira in this thread is deeply perturbing. Also, Skull fist and TruckFighters are great bands too.

Mastodon's newest album is pretty good, but their Blood Mountain/Crack the Skye/Leviathan is GOAT

+1 for truck fighters. I was about to say we need a little less rap in this thread then you pulled through. "Cruisein through the desert"

I love AJFA. Lars's drumming was on point, James wrote some nice poetry and the riffs were so dark. Wait, the whole album was dark and I think it's the darkest Metallica has ever gone. I just wished they increased the bass.

If I'd had to rate their albums I'd say

Ride The Lightning>Master of Puppets>AJFA> Kill em All+Metallica> Beyond Magnetic> Death Magnetic> All the other stuff
