I'm surprised they actually killed her. I expected some random-ass save.
More poor drama pls.. Where's the RPG?
That ending lmoa. I thought I might have rated it a bit too harshly but this episode proved it's not worth more than 3/10.

I actually liked this arc. There were definitely cliche moments all over the place (like in general the dialogue was pretty unoriginal, especially after Yuuki's death), but I thought they did a nice job and it didn't feel too cliche. Plus the animation was lovely as always. I liked the fact that they focused on character development this arc. It was a nice change of pace. So is there definitely going to be a 3rd season? I mean the ending seemed sort of ambiguous and there definitely seems like there's material to work with (going off of the ending)...

Not bad, bit of a slow ending. Lots of talking, but it was a good story I suppose.

I thought GGO was a good arc to freshen the style of things up, and it had a lot of pretty intense moments.

GGO 8.5/10, Calibur 7/10, Mother's Rosario 8/10. Overall 8/10.

Well damn, Yuuki still had a lot of firepower after that. I suppose it wasn't surprising that she would die with all the death flags..

Highlight of the finale:

Definitely my favorite arc from the series with GGO being a second contender. Enjoyed this sequel more than the first season overall.

that after credit is pretty unncessary lol, they could just tease us with the very short alicization intro and the cliffhanger.
i wonder how they make the timing of the cliffhanger in ep.1 of season 3. maybe with a lot of filler.
i bet the pussy yuki kaji will be voicing Eugeo later, take my bank account if im wrong :p

Thought SAO 2 was really good actually.

I loved how they mixed in some drama and real life problems into the virtual world. Felt a lot more "realistic" in a way for me.

As for s3, I'm pretty damn sure that A-1 pictures are mad if they don't create 1 cause of the huge fan base.

Lack luster, but not too bad of a finale. Not sure how to rate this yet as all the arcs have different numerical ratings from me. >_> Probably will leave it at a 6/10.

Would watch a s3. The next arc looks interesting.

The last episode of this season came out on December 20, 2014 and the last episode of the first season came out on December 22, 2012 so almost the same day of the year.

Since I was curious I looked for what I posted in the thread for the last episode of the first season on December 22, 2012 and read them, that was pretty interesting.

That was done really really well.
Fuck the SAO haters. Yeah its got its cringe moments, but this show knows how to lay on the drama and the feelings. To see everyone come together like that... damn i ALMOST cried. I was damn close.
I can't wait for another Extra Edition OVA or something to announce the next season.

I wanted to like this arc. I really, truly did.... but I can't. In the end I really can't. I can't feel sad over any of the events occuring in MR even if I try and as a result it just ends up feeling counterproductive to me. I like what it was trying to do and it was interesting seeing the SAO franchise try to take a bit of a different direction but I really felt like it forgot what its own strengths and weaknesses are.

Well anyways, I guess we'll meet again in season three.. whenever it comes around. It definitely will someday at least.

Gablier Arc : 1/10 (I'm not even hating it was pure trash. Worst episodes I'v seen since I started watching anime)
Mother Rosario 10/10

I'm not sure 10/10 is fair but w/e. I know that I enjoyed it a lot, it didn't felt rushed for me (haven't read the LN) and the feelings were real. I loved everything about it Yuuki was an awesome character and the ending was more than satisfying. I really hope they announce a 3rd season cause everyone tells me that it's by far the best Sao arc and after this ending I really can't wait for more. Way better than season 1 overall. Actually it's very good if you take out the mid trash episodes.

Totally called it. Why the heck would they put in a cliffhanger for some show that they'll only come back to in a year or two? This ending makes more sense, plus they always throw in a curveball with their "in-between-season" Specials anyway.

Anyway, this entire arc was great to watch. The entire season was only slightly less entertaining, but overall still great for those of us immersed in this world, and those too lazy to read every single LN out there (I'll get on it..... when I find the time.... :P), but still interested enough to want to know what will happen in the story next. For everything else... well we get enough spoilers and shit on the forums anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter that much.

Having lost a friend during this arc, I guess I have some personal affinity to it, that said I do like what they did to it overall to capture the bittersweet feeling and the sense of loss that comes with it. I personally didn't like the post-credit scene, but then again that's just me, it was too cheesy and too..... hopeful... for my tastes.

Here's hoping we don't really need to wait two entire years for Alicization to come out.

The episode went so fast... and it was so heart touching.
I liked Yuuki, she was my favorite girl of the series, I got surprised with all the other players coming to make her an tribute, like it's sometimes made on some online games.

It was a good ending, although, wasn't expecting that revelation of who made the medicuboid, I wonder if that will be important for the 3rd season.

What's this, "the tragic life story of some random girl with aids who was introduced 20 episodes into a 24 episode series"? I'm sorry but you can't expect me to get sad over something that was completely random.

SAO II didn't even have a story after the phantom bullet stuff. And didn't death gun say something like 'this isn't the end!'? Well apparently it is.

Sinon appeared in this episode. Only good point of the whole episode

I think it was more of a shock to them. The same guy that trapped thousands and killed thousands made something that could help people. It's almost like he is a villain you can't hate but you have to hate lol.

Fateful to the LN till the end, overall MR was my SAO favorite arc, with Aircrad in second. Ever since I readed volume 7 I was deeply impressed, that SAO could became something like this, exploring such a realistic view about some of the world worst diseases, and not losing it...

So Alicization in 2 years, gonna have enough time to read the rest for sure.

I'm very glad SAO2 is over. I hope this show does not spawn another season as its been nothing more than mediocre ever since the first half of S1 which it has failed to live up to.

They threw away a great cast of characters, turned the MMO aspects into stale and boring filler, didn't focus enough on the real world interactions which was the highlight of the series, forced romance to take a backseat which in turn caused it to lose all its charm, and pushed multiple archs pertaining to the most mundane and forgettable plots.

Well its time for a party which was nice to see everyone interact with one another.
Yuuki vs Kirito again. So close Kirito.
A sad farewell to Yuuki and seeing not only the Sleeping Knights but also a lot of other
players saying goodbye aswell.
Yuuki passing on her original sword skill, Mother Rosario to Asuna.
Kayaba Akihiko gets a mention near the end.
It had its high and low's but overall a good season.
9/10.

Despite the polarizing fanbase of this series just because its one of the most popular shows out there I actually liked the ending. Even if I been told of some glaring missing stuff from the LN, it was still entertaining to watch every Saturday. This episode was very touching and many people can sympathize losing a loved one due to a terminal illness and they did a solid job portraying it in anime form.

My condolences for Yuuki. Best swordsman, better than Kirito. I admire her spirit in still being able to live after all that. It was a lot tough than expected. Still, her courage and the help of her friends, helped her achieve all of that.

Giving Asuna Mother's Rosario was the last thing she did in ALO. Surrounded by everyone while spending the last moments was touching really.
No cliffhangers this time. I hoped at least they end it with a picture, but they didn't let it continue. Sigh. Season 3 anyone? Might not be coming soon though.

Overall, its a 8/10. I liked the GGO arc better because of the action. Didn't enjoy the following after it that much.
