Oh I thought it was very well done just... depressing...

The Place Promised in Our Early Days

The rec is probaly based off my subjectivity...Le Chevalier D'eon. Nice mixture of historical fiction, supernatural, with reflections toward Romanticism( the movement), despite the anime taking place in the mid 1700's.

All I have to say for this season is Kaiji. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out. Since you're a mature viewer, you should have no problem getting past the animation style and focus on the story itself.

Just finished watching Now and Then, Here and There.

NOW THATS what I'm talking about. An anime that features kids but doesn't force us to go through the "anime teenager sterotypes".

THey are there, but its heavily offset. Mostly because of Sara, her character was THE most believable and touching. Hamdo was a good character too.

But back on topic, all i'm saying is that thank god for Mne, its a breath of fresh air when we're forced to deal with the Lucky Star's, Melancholy's and Clannads etc etc.

Adult oriented Animes also include animes that contain stuff that you wouldn't understand unless you were around during the time they are making a parody of. Sly political comments throughout the anime also make them more directed toward adults. Even if there is no gore or blood, it does not necessarily have to be for children.
I have not had the chance to see much bloody animes, however, it is true that Mne is going to be more directed toward adults. Thus there will very likely be less "band wagon hopping" with this anime. If this gets to be one of the top 10 animes, then blast me away. >.>

Thats true, not really to watch though, but the sound effects can just murder you somtimes coupled with the grafic

i recommend "monster", "grave of fireflies", "REC", "honey and clover", "ghost in the shell 2nd gig", ...

WHAT? Claymore is awesome! DAMN OTHER'S OPINIONS! DAMN THEM! Seriously though for a Shounen series Claymore was more screwed up than anything out of Naruto, Bleach and the like.

Mnemosyne seems alright

Now and Then was also a great show. Very good stuff

Then Mnemosyne is epic just because it has some yuri, big boobs, some sex scenes and violence? Come on... it is mature, but if we think about that, just watch some violent hentai.

And Clannad is epic.

Um...that would be teenage-kid anime.

There are tons of mature anime with themes like that. You just need to dig deeper.



I thought Claymore was really good. Its on the same level as Death Note. Not much comedy to it. I enjoyed Claymore, well the manga though.

LOL! Describing this anime as "adult" is like calling hentai "intelligent". This anime was more hentai than mature. The sexual imagery of white liquid oozing out of eggs and women enjoying the taste of it and acting dazed because of male vampires... It couldn't get any worse. Each episode just marked the spiral the anime was following downward.
