| There are anime for kids, but they're mostly battle shonen. Parents really shouldn't shelter a kid from all violence in my opinion, watching dragon ball z wont make them a violent criminal in the future |

| I've watched many action anime and I don't even remember if I ever punched someone seriously. Naruto, Dragon Ball, Bleach, and so on while have many violence, I think it's still appropriate for kids. The story is simple and there are moral values to be learned from the story. The actions are mere entertainment. Those mothers are just over-acting just like girls in general. |

| Remove the fan service from the Magical Railgun/Index series and you got a anime which will be suitable for kids. I would also add in Katekyo Hitman Reborn and possibly (POSSIBLY) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I think FMA:B is too deep tho. Kid's wont be able to handle the greatness. |

| I guess it depends on how conservative the mom is. Nichijou should be alright, a 5 year old could probably watch that and laugh just at what is going on. Kyousougiga comes to mind. Tsubasa Chronicle would probably put the kid to sleep but I don't remember much blood being involved. Then again, those can be pretty violent, I guess, but violence is fun! As long as it doesn't show boobs or butts I'm sure Americans are okay with it. Being a girl also helps in these cases, plenty of watchable mahou shoujos, 9 years old probably won't want to watch that though. |

| I'm sure someone's already pointed this out, but.. The average mom in America is not a conservative soccer mom. Really, "soccer" and "conservative" shouldn't be used interchangeably. While it's true that many anime have fanservice/references to sexuality, violence, and inappropriate language, the same can be said of the cartoons that air on the primetime of channels like Cartoon Network (I don't watch much on Nick or Disney, so yeah..). That being said, I honestly don't know many shows that haven't been said already.. Maybe Detective Conan? If a certain aunt is really all that conservative, then she probably wouldn't like her son watching stuff meant for girls. |
