the bit in the preview with Tonegawa going ":OOOOOOOOOOO" means Kaiji will find a way. I BELIEVE.

Well, he can't get 20 mil now. Probably just going to bet his eye in the next round. But, man, Tonegawa is kicking ass. Kaiji is probably going to have to cheat with both hands to win. If another ep wasn't already called breakdown, this would be it. Super cool.

Who says you can't bet over the 30mm limit?

Insanely intense episode, and to think all they are really doing is sitting down playing a card game:) I loved how Kaiji's facial expressions were animated in this episode - if his face doesn't scream to you "I'm pretty fucked up right now" I don't know what would...

It was also nice to see one of the nameless black suits caring about what happens to Kaiji :P

no gain for tonegawa and co. once the drum is pierced, this drill can't get much further. in the manga it seems to be a pin, I don't see how that would work. maybe take his second ear. but do you think kaiji would ever consider loosing his sense of hearing after being defeated so horribly? :)

One of most intensive episodes.
This ep gave me same kind feeling like on ep 14 or 15(cant remember) when people started to fall from beam.
I think e-card will probably end in next episode. Kaiji gets to keep his ear and wins 3 million.

8 episodes to go and E-card Arc is finishing.

I would go for a second round on E-card.

Great Ep.

i never knew such a simple game like Ecard could be so intense
it makes me want to try playing, without wajering any body parts, of course

But not wagering any body parts would defeat the purpose of Ecard, it's only dramatic because you have so much to lose. If you only bet money, you won't be in as much despair as if you bet an ear, since you can always earn more money but you can't grow back another eardrum.

it was funny seeing Kaiji break down like that after his plan failed.

I thought for sure Kaiji was going to win when he bet 10mm on the slave side but this show always goes down the path I do not predict. This was arguably the most tense episode yet since this show displays emotions unlike any I've seen before in anime. I can actually feel Kaiji's pain, hopelessness, and fear. That is what makes it so tense and that is why it is unequaled in the world of anime at this point.

This show outclasses everything in just about every field right now. I'm still freaked out by episode 18.

That blood splattering ear drum drill looks damn painful!

Most likely because he has to tidy up afterwards

Kaiji def. had a lot of emotions expressed this episode. He needs to keep his poker face

Hm, didn't like this episode too much. The psychological stuff was too obvious for this show, looking forward to more though.
