Is it just me or every single girl/woman with short hair looks the same in all of the episodes?

It's like that with all the characters, TBH.

There's a notable lack of depressing endings lately, which kind of takes away from some of the charm of the series, to be honest. But whenever something happens like Shige falling down the mountain, I'm always really nervous. >_>

All in all, pretty good episode, but not one of my favorites. I did, however, love the end. Very beautiful end. Plus, my dear Brina Palencia voices Shige in the dub. The idea of her beautiful voice being silenced for 10 years... what horror! D:

I laughed when Ginko gave that guy a little push saying "I'm countin' on ya".

Just too bad she'll lose her voice eventually, but still a happy ending I guess ^^

I thought her voice was beautiful. Even though it's considered broken.

Nice episode with a happy ending.

But all the side characters really look the same. And it always starts with some kid in the woods. Seriously WTF?

Very nice episode. The variation of Mushi in every episode is incredible, and I like that Ginko becoming more and more... human with feeling I guess? :D

And HAPPY ending! As always calming episode of Mushishi, giving the right mood:)

Good episode.
One thing I didn't understand: did the girl lose her voice at end, or she kept it?

She didn't, but if she wanted to help the village she needed to keep screaming and singing and watnot to spread and kill off the rust. So eventually she would lose her voice.

Also another great episode.

I liked the episode. One learns to appreciate episodes with less drama or tragedy involved after he gets through so many cases with far from a good ending.

Good episode but would've liked an explanation as to why her voice attracted the Mushi and why they didn't affect her as well.

Beautiful episode, as are most episodes, even the darker ones. I loved the ending when the narrator said that sometimes the singing voice could be heard echoing through the mountain valleys. Simply great storytelling.

An episode about voice... This really hit home.
Shige is such a nice girl... Glad Tetsu didn't die either. At least she's living happily now. The rust on the people's skin was disturbing yet strangely enticing. Also I must applaud Shige's voice actor this episode. Great job.

I was hoping this was going to be a happy episode, and it was going along nicely until Tetsu fell down. We all know Mushishi's track record. When I thought rare happiness would be in this episode Tetsu falling got me panicking and distressed, because Mushishi was betraying my hopes.

But then everything was good in the end. Whew.

It's pretty funny that Tetsu, a guy who has the name that pretty much means "metal" in Japanese, was the only person in his village to not experience any form of rusting at all.

I knew some people with very hoarse voices so I assume that her voice was supposed to sound similar to theirs. It's nice that she figured out how to get rid of the Mushi by herself and also found an alternative to screaming in the mountains every few days. It would've been better if we were able to listen to that broken but beautiful singing of hers in the end.

The concept of the episode wasn't exactly realistic, then again we're talking about a supernatural anime. Even so, it feels like the quality given to this particular mushi is far-fetched. I mean, being exposed to a person's breath causes rust to grow all over the body? Kudos to the original creator for having such a creative idea, but I personally believe that there's a limit to how 'special' the mushi can get.

This episode was fine, though the concept threw me for a loop.

Ironic isn't it? And metal is typically known for rusting. It really makes you wonder if there's a connection between his name, Tetsu, and the fact that he didn't get infected. That would be pretty cool.

How does the author even come up with these ideas, they're so good. Poor girl, it wasn't her fault, truly, yet she had to stop speaking for 10 whole years. Unfortunate. Beautiful & good episode.

Narration that saddens me a little, the episode describes well one of the evils of human society, something that I personally can't stand; everything is told without the pill being held and this is good. Beautiful the happy ending, it took.

Teaching someone how to write--especially Japanese characters--seems like a pretty big request to a Mushi-shi who is already helping you. But I guess she just wanted to know how to write the words in the message she gave the dude.

wow what a amazing concept and another really good episode. Luckily Ginko didn't have to put his life on the line this time around (was scared for my boi) but lmao i like the small flakes of comedy sprinkled every now and again, Ginko would make a pretty good wingman xD
Also HOLY FUCK has anyone realised how fucking tall Ginko actually his? Like the dudes a whole head taller maybe more then most of the natives. My estimate is roughly 6"0 foot? Give or take? Given that (according to google) the average height of a Japanese male, i'm going to base it off this as we aren't REALLY given a clear point to where/when Mushishi is set but there's quite a few pointers to Japan so let's role with that :P, is around 5"7 (lmao same height as me xd ) and taken hes more or less a HEAD taller when seen around the natives (we do see him duck under door frames sometimes) i'd be willing to bet his definitely in the 6"0 range (also i know a guy who is exactly 6"0 and he is most definitely a head taller exactly) but do take everything i say with a grain of salt, this was all quick brain 5am calculations shit and i'm always known as the guy whose always "far fetched" with estimates so yeh :)
also just a theory, maybe he got an increase of height due to

What an unfortunate coincidence that her voice and the mushi's sound are similar, it was a good episode.

I'm curious whether the character Shige, was born with supernatural powers like we saw in episode 1. The power to attract the Mushi 'Yasabi' with her 'inhuman' voice, perhaps any other manifestation of a symbiotic Mushi living in her voice box.
