I knew it!

There was already a hint/leak about that not long ago. Good to see it get an anime adaptation although I think it might be one cour. What studio though? Maybe Bones?

As expected, good news. Arslan was always a bit of a dark horse in the West and I hope this changes soon.

Seen this but never did get to check it out. I'll probably do before the anime airs.
Though isn't Arakawa still having some troubles, hence the irregular releases of Gin no Saji? Is this affected as well?

I've never seen the other Arslan Senki or read this before. This will be a nice way to get into the franchise. Looking forward to it.

Never heard of Arslan Senki before, although it has a decent synopsis so it has the potential to be good if the right studio gets it. (Bones, Madhouse, Artland please?)

アルスラーン (arusuraan).
So they're following the manga adaptation, as excepted. In this case, that was the only logical choice anyway.
Interesting news.

Hmm, I checked the news again. It looks like the adaptation didn't say which type of anime. It could also be a movie...although I'm really hoping for a full TV series.

Aslan and Arslan are both taken from the Turkic word/name. I think it's just alternate spelling.

Indeed.

I think they're going for this version because of the manga writer. You can see what the main character looks like, after all.

Certainly elitist will look forward to it. Combination of Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu original creator + Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood original creator. I sure hope that it won't take too long to start with its story as I saw a review about Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu saying that the first climax only appeared after the first 28 eps.

Really? It wasn't Bones that adapted Gin no Saji, one of Arakawa's other manga, into an anime.

I think the start of LOTGH is pretty good already, if you can get past a few dated details. If anything this is probably a case of "the rest of the show is so good it makes the already good beginning look lame".

I like Arakawa's art and the chapters I read seemed like a good start; a classic historical fiction is always welcomed. Hopefully BONES picks this up, they did a good job with FMA.

This looks really interesting, but I'm not sure why the manga slipped under my radar till today.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

The last chapter Ive read was 14, so I don't know if got more context into it than what it showed but isn't it a bit too early ? I would have preferred a 20+ show than just 12+ (probably) but is there a chance that the show will be adapted with novel material, added with the charcter design of Hiromu Arakawa so that the manga just ends up boosting the popularity (in that sence like Guren Lagan and Nagi no Asukaras manga do the same).
