more often than not it's been questionable lately. at least in my opinion. to me anime was a way to view different artistic styles present a story with characters. that's originally what drew me in to liking anime. each one can be different simply beginning with the animation/presentation.

I personally never considered the 90s a peak in terms of anime, in fact I think most of the shows that I remember from back then were alright, but nothing I was ever able to be crazy about. And nowadays, it's the complete opposite: There are shows with characters and storylines that are hundreds of times as memorable as everything from back then, and I've fallen in love with more than just one show. The medium has greatly improved and it still does, obviously you will more than likely not find a new all-time favourite every single season, but I'm very optimistic that the future has a lot of great shows in stock.

I am unsure - back when I was a kid, DBZ and Naruto were the big things. I have a little brother who is currently 14 and I can honestly than neither him or any of his friends show any interest in Anime apart from stuff like AoT/Deathnote. Even then, they don't care for them as much as me and my friends cared for DBZ and certainly don't get into as heated discussions/conversations over them.
