According to Newtype December issue, a Blu-ray Box of True Tears was announced to be released on March 26th, 2010. A three minute long short anime will be included in the boxset and it's a sequel to the TV series.

However, the release of the boxset will be canceled if the number of the pre-orders are less than 2,000 copies.

Hope it gets more than 2000 preorders. Rewatching this in uber quality would totally kick ass.

That's a bit harsh to set an ultimatum... Buy our overpriced blue ray boxset, or we won't release this forgotten anime.

The original series was very good. I'll definitely watch this (if it's released).

I'm falling in love all over again, after reading this, heh.
But dang, that is some tough condition. If I could play BD disks and understood shows without subs, I'd buy it in an instant.
Why did they cut Noe off from the scan? :(

I feel the exact same way ... but that's how it works with business ... they need to make sure they make a profit, otherwise no point doing it for free :P

But if it is a sequel, I really want to see it :) Maybe I can finally push this series beyond my current 5th position :)

The 2000 pre-order ultimatum may be because getting Blu-ray for True Tears was most likely due to the petition kind of think that was done by people who organized this site with the support of over nine thousand fans who voted on Blu-ray-ifying the True Tears series, ranking it #1. They're most likely playing it safe by saying pre-orders of 2000 copies because according to the votes, 2000 should be a piece of cake and because they're reluctant on releasing Blu-rays when the DVD didn't sell very well (at least I think I heard somewhere that it didn't), though the main reason that happened is most likely because True Tears aired in HD, and real fans (the type of fans who are fans of True Tears) would die to buy DVD quality.

[EDIT] Though considering most people who watch anime are NEET who lurk 2ch, it would be pretty difficult to ask them to pre-order something that costs around $280

No, I didn't vote, but I'm one of the over nine thousand fans.

Sweet. I short sequel would be cool. It'd more like an epilogue though, and those are always great.

My favorite romance anime of all time. It is great. I watched it twice already and will watch it many times in the future.
