10/10 series fo sho.
No one can claim they saw it coming? Stair-Jump bad end, I presume?

On that note, I did notice, while it's not really a picking up Saber points option, Shirou did choose to show Saber around. HMMMM.....
He didn't, she started walking around on her own to make sure the place is safe.

Is it possible for Servants to be summoned from the future or alternate realities? Rin seemed to imply, in the VN, that Servants can be summoned from more than just the past and the present.

Heroic Spirits belong to the Throne of Heroes, which is removed from the time axis, so spirits could potentially be summoned into an era or a universe they didn't exist. Actually, some spirits are just fictional, like Heracles (because Nasu says so).

Yes.

The Throne of Heroes where Heroic Spirits are "stored" is placed outside of the time axis plane.

That means that even if a hero like Heracles or Odysseus died at birth at some alternative reality, the Heroic Spirit would still exist.

Rin said in the latest episode that the Gandr spell is etched in her Magic Crest that has been passed through generations. Does this mean that her family is somehow connected to Scandinavia?

Never confirmed, but it's very likely, considering Zelretch thought the family is at their core good-natured. I edited my comment and added a few trivia notes, btw.

I have a question about episode 5:
[spoiler] Did shinji appear infront of Shirou before Shirou fought rider? he didn't right? [spoiler]

Another question, now that the pacing increased a bit, up to what part of the VN do you think will the first season cover?

My understanding is
[spoiler] Rider was baiting Shirou into using his command seal with her thought process being if he used the command seal he was as cowardy as Shinji, and if he's anything like Shinji she should keep him away from Sakura at all costs. In short, think of it as Rider screening Shirou to see if he's good enough for Sakura or not.

Aside from some added detail with Illya and Berserker, which is necessary, they haven't had anything close to the Fate route up until now.

Ah ok thanks for the clarification. It was bugging me since i saw the episode and remember a scene in the vn where they explain more on why. I hope they include that scene you mention later.

[spoiler]
Rider hates masters because of Shinji being an asshole (He raped her) and she wanted to bait Shirou into using his command spells to prove to herself that masters are all coward scum who abuses their servants as tools. In the bad end where you use your command spell, Rider cuts off your hand and says "you're no different from other masters once I've cornered you."
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

There's something that's been kind of bothering me after watching ep 1. How did Lancer know that Shirou was still alive when he went to go kill him the second time? Did the master have a familiar watching the the school? I might have missed something in the VN.

Ah, okay. I guess that makes sense, his master probably told him to go back and check just in case Rin tried to revive him. Do they actually explain that in the VN?

Shirou says that when he detects Lancer in his house perimeter - that any killer would most likely be sure to come back and ensure his victim is dead.

As I thought, Nasu's good at closing major plot holes. That's one of the things that makes Fate/stay night so great.

He mostly labels stuff that influences "changes" in the surroundings hostility

Ex: Lancer's noble phantasm "drains" the area out of its magical energy. Rin describes it in complex technical terms, Shirou - in terms of how it feels.

Not in the terms your thinking of, I always thought of it as Nasu's writing style. He loves describing intent almost giving it a physical aspect.

Yes,

Other people will probably give you a detailed answer but I recommend not watching F/SN 2006 series and just watch UBW (TV) for now. As the F/SN 2006 is a horrible adaption of the fate route.

F/SN 2006 is not the source material. Feel free to read the visual novel if you're interested. Otherwise, just stick to Ufotable's adaptations and stay the hell away from Deen's.

True Magic is not affected by anything.
Since it comes from reaching close to the source of ALL of realities, its pretty much bending parts of reality to your own will. Unless you are from Age of Gods(or Notes future), your resistance might as well be nothing.

Neither. It's Magical Energy. Prana is something the Type-Moon wiki invented because they don't like saying magical energy all the time. Mana isn't used because there are two types of maryoku, Od(o) and Mana. They are both essentially the same, Od is just the energy the magic circuits filter and Mana is the energy outside.

UTW for instance uses internal mana for Od and natural mana for Mana, because they find magical energy pedantic and Prana stupid.
