meh.. If it's like 1 of this out of 27 it's fine by me, as long as it keeps going like the first 3 eps. This episode had some funny moments though, like the lunch!  |

For all the flak this episode has gotten, I have to say it remains as one of my favorite episodes. Sure, the animation is a little dodgy in some places compared to the rest of the series, but there's a lot of ideas in this episode that just weren't taken any further for the rest of the series. Other combining gunmen, or actually any other characterized gunmen pilots (apart from the Four Generals, Viral and the bathhouse lady of course), Leeron's spider robots, one cool gattai transformation scene per episode... I...Enjoyed this episodes art style. It was different. But that didn't make it bad. What made it bad was the five or six recycled scenes. But that can be excused, because of how much I enjoyed the art. Also. Eating your pet. Respect for the cutesty anime pet companion..up! |

Honestly, that was pretty lame. I didn't really notice anything about the animation, but everything else bored me to no end. I hope this series picks up soon. |

Animation was bad, but this wasn't the reason that this episode sucked. It's because this was like a filler episode. Random shit happening with no plot advancement. |

No, it WAS a filler episode. I have higher expectations for this series, since it's so popular, then the shit that was this episode. The animation was complete crap and it pissed me off that I even finished the episode. If the next ep isn't like the first three I'm dropping this anime, which is sad since I really liked the frist three eps.  |

Never before any combinations or mecha has been more badass than these two. Screw transformers and gundam. This destroys everything. Boota ripping his tail, WTF? And I realised at the end when I thought about it, the dogs are running FU*KING BACKWARDS. Wow.  |

So this was the infamous episode. Apparently the lower animation quality was intentional, and it's really a shame that the co-founder of Gainax had to resign over some 2chan trolling. Show is still pretty boring, though. |
