| Has anyone seen this yet? I'm trying to watch the episode (Nyoro~n Subs, the lower quality 200 meg version), but my audio is corrupted. Just curious whether I'm the only one with this problem. |

| Is it me or is the animation seems a little different this episode. Something was not right. Either way, it was a pretty good episode. I loved the part where Kamina wouldn't combine with Simon till he did some cool air move. The tail thing was funny too. Yoko is hot as always but there wasnt much of her. Anyways, looking forward to the next episode. |

| that is punishment for getting the lower quality ver. Always get the HQ, which is what i watched. Deleted right after i finished cause i plan on archiving AiA/I-Z ver. anyways. |

| Yeah, it was good. Not as good as episode 3, and the animation was a bit off, especially at the start. Hopefully it goes back to normal in the next few. |

| Oh god the animation made me cry T_T. It was done in a sort of western style, which wouldn't have been so bad if they had done the lip sync that helps the western style look passable, and the excess of visual jokes (ala tweety birds from roadrunner) and unnecessary and overdone facial expressions really hurt the overall look of the show. The mech action was fine, though I caught a few obviously reused animations, but honestly if your characters look like imitations of themselves drawn by a different set of artists than I just... I liked the episode when I ignored how goddamn ugly it was. The voice acting (of course) didn't degrade with the art, and the characters and storyline weren't suddenly completely out of the tradition the series has set up. So even though the character's looked like imitations of themselves, they at least acted and sounded just like they did before. I dunno, I'm really annoyed about this episode, and hope it has a return to form in the next episode or might have to drop this series out of sheer annoyance. -_- There's no point to ogling Yoko if it's not enjoyable anymore. |

| Wow I had heard the animation was "Different" for this episode but I didn't expect it to be so bad :( . The first part of the episode was pretty hard to watch coming from the previous god-like animation to that.. Seriously it looked like more than a new director doing it.. it looked like some sort of budget cut. The mouths were... ok lets just say I thought I was watching a some 1 man flash video when I saw those mouths :P I liked the second part of the episode for the most part since it consisted of the mech battle mostly, while not as flashy as previous episodes I still enjoyed it. |

| I heard from a friend that GAINAX received so many complaints about this episode that the man in charge of episode 4 actually quit, but he didn't supply a source. Can anyone confirm this? |

| I beleive the co-founder of gainex resigned becuase of the 2ch board. I dont know the exact details but you can check it out on some blog. http://animeblogger.net search for gainex or something. |

"What happened with the 2ndchannel case of : – The producer of gurren lagann resigned his producer´s post – after a comment from a fight started from otakus ( they told the woman that the animation quality sucked like hell on the last episodes) with a woman that worked on gainax she said that she hates otakus with the phrase: woman : ” DIE DISGUSTING OTAKU!!! ” And after that comment the producer stated that: Akai Takami: ” TO READ 2CH IS THE SAME AS BREATH WITH YOUR FACE IN YOUR ASS ” so after this 5th episode he is no more on the team!!! (LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL) I liked BOTH!!! But we can learn some lessons here my friends: ” NEVER SPIT ON A CLIENT´S FACE !! ” OBS: the animation from this anime NEVER dropped for a sec….only got better and better!! :D ” THE POOR GUY LOST HIS WORK FOR A BUNCH OF MONKEY SPAKER GEEKS THAT ONLY LIKE TO SAY ALL THE TIMES PHRASES LIKE :KAWAIIIIIIIIIIIIII OR KONEKO CHAN TARA OR ANA KOTO, SONA KOTO,KONA KOTO ” " Well not alot of that made sense and this guy could be just pulling this out of his ass or something... it was from the comments on Random Curosity. Half-way through the ep (or not even that far) i really couldnt stand watching it anymore, the animation was just that bad, and the story wasnt anything good either. Though the 2nd half was alright, and i figured this would only occur in this episode or maybe a few more for i can't imagine this being what got TTGL to #1. Daaamn... |

Though there was one close up on Kamina that was absolutely pathetic. I never liked Kamina's design, but I didn't remember it looking THAT pathetic. |

| Unfortunately the animation was sub-par, but the episode was as good as ever... the way it's so unashamedly over the top is so good; plus it doesn't really take itself seriously :) Best characters are Kamina because he's hilarious, and Yoko... 'nuff said. :D |

| Okay, the Boota thing was wrong... Also, the girls in this anime seem to be suffering from a common anime condition, where all the girls flock around one guy who is a total ass. I should give it a name, something like "Sasuke Uchiha" syndrome. |

| This episode is infamous for the animation. I didn't mind that much. The green moustache on that pink fluffball leader character was the best part of the episode. Then when they ate their pet's tail that was really disturbing. |

| I'm watching TTGL for the first time. In the first three episodes, the animation and general production values blew me away as pretty much the best thing about the show. Then I see this episode, and it is practically unwatchable. I wasn't sure if it was just me who noticed the terrible animation, so I came to this forum, and sure enough other people noticed as well. I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought so. I really hope the rest of the show is more on par quality-wise with the first three episodes instead of the fourth one. |
