I'm curious if Tokyo ghoul will get another boost after the last 2 episodes since there (especially the last episode) will be the hype moments . Anyhow , again 12 volumes in top 50 is good, i guess the other volume is close to top 50 too . Pretty happy for that .

The anime is doing what it's intended for, and nothing more than that. If they actually pull off a cliffhanger/BS ending, the manga will probably receive an even bigger boost in sales. Which is very likely because it will in-line with their criteria.

Actually it wouldn't matter if they pull a cliffhanger or not(well or not that much) , if you read the manga you know what i'm talking about . This is where shit starts to happen , this is where the hype is .Most of the people who read the manga untill chapter 60 say that it is ok , after 60 say that it is awesome.Same thing with the anime if they don't ruin these 2 episodes . Gotta wait and see .

Here's hoping they'll announce a second season soon. There is no doubt the anime is rushed but it's still a good adaptation compared to other series like Black Bullet or Kagepro.

*1. 13,013 286,567 Sword Art Online Vol.15
*3. 11,568 *19,133 Shinmai Maou no Testament Vol.6

Oh seeing Shinmai Maou no Testament up high with great sales is such a pleasure to see, really hyped for the anime next year. And SAO up there is, as always, fantastic to see.

Shokugeki no Souma is brilliant though, one of Jumps best new series in recent years, Toriko as well but only when they focus on the fighting, the rest is just boring in Toriko sadly. Bad balance. Butchered anime adaptation didn't help either.

When i see a series like bleach still selling that high , i wonder why it has no anime , if a new series came up and sold 250k it would get an anime easy , and the anime would boost the salea anyway so it would probably reach 700k+ easy IMO

It has no anime now because there was not enough material for the anime to cover, as it quickly caught up to the manga. To avoid any more non-canon fillers, the anime ended to allow time for the manga to move on. There's no doubt that they will continue to animate Bleach once there is more material. At least in this way, it would just be solid fights throughout without any random filler episode breaks in the middle.

Inuyasha was an anime that ended before it eventually continued after the manga was completed. I just wonder if the rest of Soul Eater, or if a more faithful adaptation of it would be pursued in the future.

It was on sale for 4 days actually... Sep 4, 5, 6 and 7. It would've most likely been at the same point had it been on sale 1 more day (as for Vol.74) or for 2 more days (as for Vol.73).

Rank / Last week rank / Weekly sales / Cumulative sales / Weeks Charted / Days since release (only for 1st week) / Manga Title
*1 ** 1,775,905 1,775,905 **1 4 ONE PIECE Vol.75

I don't think it would've reached 2.5 million in 7 days as you're claiming. Comparing to Vol.74, it reached 2.5 million somewhere between 26 and 33 days on sale.

*1 -- 1,852,750 1,852,750 **1 5 ONE PIECE 74
*1 *1 *,404,165 2,256,915 **2 - ONE PIECE 74
*3 *1 *,142,513 2,399,428 **3 - ONE PIECE 74
*7 *3 *,*86,694 2,486,122 **4 - ONE PIECE 74
14 *7 *,*47,792 2,533,914 **5 - ONE PIECE 74
16 14 *,*37,947 2,571,861 **6 - ONE PIECE 74
33 16 *,*27,106 2,598,967 **7 - ONE PIECE 74
50 33 *,*24,010 2,622,977 **8 - ONE PIECE 74

Now Vol.73:
*1 -- 2,075,407 2,076,189 **1 6 ONE PIECE 73
*1 *1 *,348,844 2,425,033 **2 - ONE PIECE 73
*6 *1 *,136,322 2,561,355 **3 - ONE PIECE 73
*7 *6 *,*81,597 2,642,952 **4 - ONE PIECE 73
*8 *7 *,*50,464 2,693,416 **5 - ONE PIECE 73
30 *8 *,*33,336 2,726,752 **6 - ONE PIECE 73
38 30 *,*25,302 2,752,054 **7 - ONE PIECE 73
50 -- *,*21,652 2,793,426 **9 - ONE PIECE 73
*1 2,825,339 14/03 ONE PIECE 73
43 -- *,*20,620 2,869,548 *14 - ONE PIECE 73

Vol.73 actually took less time (between 13 and 20 days) to reach 2.5 million than Vol.74. Nevertheless, One Piece is still the undisputed king of manga.

It's the first thing to be on the top of the light novel ranks for 4 weeks in total since Juuni Kokuki Hishi no Tori in June/July last year, though.

I know OP is the best selling manga.

But SnK also sells like hotcakes. This is the first time I compare the two in weekly sales and I guess I was just surprised that OP passed SnK even though SnK had a 2 week(?) head start.

Looks like the anime is helping out the Tokyo Ghoul Manga nicely. It would be better to end it in a cliff hanger rather than rush the series.

There is no new lN on the whole oricon chart this week, so leading on the LN board isn't anything great ImO.

SAO LN is always on top, it's sales are so "overpowered" compared to other light novels...

If you count media works bunko sales, SAO volumes aren't the LN volumes selling the most those last few years, as biblia koshodou is above, though.

Biblia isn't considered a light novel by Oricon though. It was absent from the 2014 Half-Yearly Top 30 Light Novel volumes. Biblia Vol.5 sold 521,217 in the period of 2013/11/18~2014/05/18, but the Top selling light novel volume for that period was Kagerou Days Vol.5 at 330,936.

MAL just translated the Bunko list for the Half-Yearly Rankings, when there was an actual Light Novel list available. They also missed out on a light novel in the process... No Game No Life Vol.6 at 69,983.

That's why I said "If you count media works bunko sales as LN sales"
Which MAL usually do. Media works bunko is a case of
"they say they aren't publishing LN, but what they're publishing looks like a LN, sounds like a LN and smells like LN~" kind of stuff. That's why lots of places usually add their sales to the LN sales list.

Can't believe SAO LN is doing so well... My friend always tells me that the LN is better than the anime, and that I should read it, but I don't know if I want to...

I wonder what the plot is even about now, after GGO it went so insane that I'm not even sure what's going on anymore, judging from plot synopses.
