The board needs some refreshing again ;P And now I came up with a topic to make, so ^^


This is about Japanese music. I love Japanese music myself and it's nowadays at least 80% of what I listen to, I bet.

If you like j-music, what kind of music do you like? Or do you have any favorites (singers, bands, etc)? (And such) ^_^

Gotta say that my favorite band so far is UVERworld, they are really amazing! I loved their opening to Bleach *_* And their opening to Blood+! >w<
And other favorites are The Pillows, Bump of Chicken, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Perfume...
There are so many good japanese bands out there ><

I used to listen to all sorts of Japanese music, but I changed computers, and ever since then I pretty much lost 99.9% of my J-music =P Aside from anime OP/ED, I listen to Vocaloid. My J-music list will grow soon though ^^ hahaha

Wow! Did you know that you were gonna lose the music or did it just happen? I once lost A LOT of music, just because my computer gor really messed up and I hadn't burnt all of it on DVDs, or copied them on another harddisk -.-' but now i've learned my lesson!hehe n_n'
Anime ops and eds are really good too! ^^ though i listen mostly to all kinds of different bands nowadays, more than anime songs, but i do always have my favorite anime songs on my ipod at least x3 Haven't heard of Vocaloid before :o is it jpop, jrock or what?

I don't really know how to explain Vocaloid..It's a program that people can use and pick different voices to sync with songs XD Have you never heard of Hatsune Miku? She's the first of the Vocaloid2 series, and is generally the most popular. There are a bunch of different 'singers'. Haha I'm terrible at explaining this, maybe someone else who has a better handle on this subject can understand XD!

Yay Vocaloid! Yeah, it is kind of hard to explain... there are computer programs which use computer-generated voices to create songs. Some of my favorites are World is Mine, Servant of Evil, and Alice Human Sacrafice. I am somewhat new to Vocaloid so more recommendations would be good. <3

I have on my mp3-player only japanese songs now, too. One of the biggest effects of being an otaku! o_o

Mostly I download soundtracks, openings and endings (especially from the animes I found good). But sometimes I'm listening to japanese Disney-songs. XD
My favourite singers are Maaya Sakamoto, Ayaka Hirahara and I love Nakajima Megumi's voice, too (she was the seiyuu of Ranka Lee).

My fave composers are Yoko Kanno (no.1.) and Kunihiko Ryo.

The best soundtracks (in my eyes ^__^) are:
Air, Haibane Renmei, Kamichu, Sketchbook Full Colors (their score albums)
and Macross Frontier, Ouran, etc. (vocal albums).

And currently addicted to Loveless from Yamapi.
In the first round these are what came into my mind. ^__^

Hmm... when it comes to soundtracks to animes I find it very hard to pick favorites! :o Especially if it's instrumental music, or whatever you can call it. It might be a little easier if it's more about songs like OPs, EDs and other songs where they sing. At least in that case one of my top favorites is NANA! <3 I love the songs they have in NANA *_*

One band that I'm listening to a lot lately and that I really adore is NewS!! I started off just listening to a couple of their songs, since I liked one of the guys from the group (Yamapi!) after watching J-drama with him in them, but I started listening to them more just now recently since I watched NEWS - Never ending story on youtube >w< It kinda made me fall in love with all of them xD And I love their music, of course!!! >w< It's awesome!!

When I start listening to J-music was only opening and ending songs from anime but then I heard from NewS and I like them. But now I really love KAT-TUN more.
I also listen to J-rock. Like Versailles, The Gazette and Alice Nine.
