Tadatoshi Fujimaki's manga Kuroko no Basket reached its final chapter in the 40th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump, to be released on September 1st. The final page of the chapter also mentions that volume 29 will be released in October, volume 30 (the final volume) will be released in December, and that Jump Next in December will have a "miracle" coming, of which details will be announced later.

The manga itself was that of the progressive type. It became better and better through time, but has recently lost that shine. When a progressive story suddenly stops rising, the fall is huge. Therefore, it's more than for the better to see it end, since it has reached the heights it could.

I loved the manga in the beginning but now it's been going downhill, downhill and downhill. That last total bs match killed Kuroko for me and that was sad. So I'm happy it's ending. Though I really don't know how Fujimaki is going to end this.

I thought they would go further than Rakuzan vs. Seirin, but it also makes sense for it to end. Time to finish reading it then.

Not surprising at all when all the loose ends have been tied and there was no set up for future arcs. Also Slam Dunk ended on pretty much the same note so it was expected. Still would like to see a epilogue of some sort showing how everyone ended up.

That's good to hear. Sports anime shouldn't go until everyone becomes super saiyan. It gets really dull then.

What a relief : ) I mean, I love it, but it couldn't go any further, I was afraid they would drag it on even more...

I've been reading it for almost four years, I'll miss it so much : (

Saw this yesterday. I was disappointed but honestly, how many more "superpowers" can they possibly add at this point? I'd rather it end strongly than get needlessly prolonged.

So, both Naruto and KuroBas are ending and WSJ officials rather axe potential big hits like Iron Knight or Stealth Symphony despite knowing this?!
Oh well, they only have themselves to blame for this...

I already thought that KnB will end soon because the match is ending but somehow this still kind of surprised me... It just feels so sudden. KnB is definitely one of my favorite mangas and I feel very sad that it's going to end. But I think it's better to finish it like this and not making it super long or some bad sequel (*ahem* Prince of Tennis...).

But I'm glad the anime is still continueing! I can't wait to see some parts animated.

Real talk tho, I'm surprised WSJ didnt push him to continue it, considering how good the sales were, and S3 already in the making.

But oh well.

Yeah third season has been announced for a long while now.
I've counted the volumes per adaptation and if the season is 2-cour like the others then it will adapt the entire manga.

Series at the bottom are not potential big series but dead weight. They are looking for potential big hits which are actually potential big hits like Hinomaru Zumou which is ranking really well. Not sure but I think the first ranking of Boku no Hero Acamedia seems also to show promise.

Well, I guess the third season can go until the very end now when the manga soon is finnished.

Even if I don't give a shit about this garbage, I'll only be interested in it so long as Murasakibara appears and plays.

No.

I hoped that they would do nationals or anything like that like with New TeniPuri, I mean it's one of Jumps best selling manga. But on the other side, I don't want this to be another Naruto with dragging out the plot until whenever.

Still hope that we'll get a kind of spin-off. I'll miss it for sure...

Fuck ratings, why do you even let 10-year old kids decide how long a story has to take to pay off via a strange poll in the first place? If WSJ wants to have some big hitters, taking no risks will not pay off hugely in the long run. They even let Shingeki slip through their hands because of their current policies...
Then again, Nisekoi being as popular as it is and Double Arts getting axed show that is seems to pay off...

No. It almost never fell from the top 10 for the past few months. Kuroko no Basuke's fanbase in Japan is huge.
