Ginko wins some, he loses some, and other times he just helps girls from becoming swamps. All in all though, still quite interesting.

I didn't liked this episode as much as I liked the previous one, but it was still pretty good.
I actually thought the girl would have died along with the swamp, but I'm glad she was alive =P

Yeah, looking back sometimes the resolutions are happy and sometimes not, but with this episode I definitely thought she'd be swept away with the swamp too.

Quite a good episode.

So there are times that Mushi became good and bad?

I see. I see.. Hahaha! LOL!

ginko wasn't as laid back in this one either

My impressions on this show up till now: great. The storys are quite simple, but have a certain feel to them that I like. The art is beautiful, and the music is well composed and used. I'll definitly continue to watch this.

Poor girl, she didn't know what is dying with a swamp like. It's funny that not the trap that Ginko set up caught the girl, but the fishermen randomly on the other day.

Although I didn't like this episode as much as the previous ones, it showed how unpredictable this show is. I assumed at first that the girl was some sort of Mushi and then that she would die. But neither happened.

I'd like to learn more about Ginko though.

Wow, I'm surprised that most people didn't like this episode compared to the past 4 episodes but this is one of the best episodes among the first 5 in my opinion.

Well yes sometimes I'd just love to see what random phenomenons they're going to bring up next.

Baby swamps lol. I guess nature has its way to maintain balance... but in this age it's a question whether such statement is valid or not :(

Travelling swamp was a great concept.

Just like the previous posters, I just thought that the girl would die and became part of

of the sea. Another interesting fact about Mushi is that they're between life and death.

Still liked it. The calmness it delivers. :)

I absolutely loved Ginko’s expressions in this episode ♥

I’m glad the girl survived. I’d thought she’d stay in a crystal-like form for the rest of her life.

It’s nice to see how Mushi are just creatures, not bad or good, nor living or dead; in this case, the swamp’s death brought fortune to the fisherman and provided a great catch, unlike the othes, who were “negative”.
I think, then procrastinate.
Therefore, I am.

This is a decent episode. I think that the previous 4 episodes are better than this episode. Hope that it'll get better in the next episode.

I really liked this episode, simply because it's the first time I think we've ever seen Ginko actually show any true emotion. Also the first time that we've seen the good side to the Mushi. The story has always put forward the fact that Mushi aren't bad or good, they just ARE, but this episode is the first one to really reinforce that to any degree.

As for the story though, I don't think it's as strong as the last two episodes, which isn't to say that this episode was bad at all really. It was still great though. I like the themes of rebirth in this episode, the fact that after the swamp dies, new ones spring up to take it's place. As if it isn't really gone at all.
As always, today is the most enjoyable day.

That captures my feelings pretty accurately. It didn't seem as captivating to me, although it was nice that the girl managed to survive.

It was a calm episode, maybe not the best one, but at least it wasn't depressing. Mushis are so mysterious. At first I thought that they are just some reality-warping spirits, but they seem to be probably something more than just that.

I very thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and I came up with a bit of reasoning for it myself.
The tsunami that was described as the cause of the girl and swamp meeting in the first place, and this initially puzzled me. However, the tsunami would have caused the swamp Mushi to surface because of the removal of silt covering up the underground river it was traveling.
I'm as surprised as the rest of the posters here that she did not melt away (if you look at the episode thumbnail it looks like that would turn out to be her fate), but pleased that it was not her doom to rot away with the swamp.

This had a happy ending, but as an episode it was lacking some of what the previous episodes have all had. I don't know if it was the setting--village instead of isolated people--or if it was the theme of a swamp. I still liked it of course, just not as much as the rest.

Personally I think it added something else the other episode's lacked: More insight/reflection upon the main character Ginko himself. By starting the ep at his house and the dialogue betwheen him and Adashino. And the showing of teamwork between other Mushi-shi/people instead of only working alone and it only focussing at the person in need.

I gasped when the girl was sacrificed...can't believe they did that. It was quite the interesting episode though, how the girl was sad that the swamp was dying. But in the Ginko saw 3 or 4 other new swamps :) Circle of life?

lol, can't believe someone actually suggested a marathon of this show. Most fans would agree that Mushishi is something that you should take slowly, bit by bit.
"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

I thought about marathoning this series because I have time to spare before finals start coming up, but there's so much thought tha tneeds to be put into each episode that it's so hard to watch another right as soon I finish an episode.

This episode was just as good as all of the other ones before, and so far this series is a running favorite. I'm looking forward to taking my sweet time with this series. :D
