It was announced on Toonami's Tumblr page today that the OVA series Hellsing Ultimate will be airing on Toonami, an animated action block that runs on Adult Swim, starting September 13th. The series is set to air at 3 A.M. on that day and be a replacement for the Naruto reruns and Black Lagoon. The Toonami crew assured that the show will not be edited for time, and if content edits are needed, they will edit them by TV-MA standards.

Wow, that's nice. Then again, I assume violence is not that big of a theme on US TV - I certainly couldn't imagine this airing on a non-late night slot in a few countries.

I'm wondering why this is considered news worthy. News Brief should be enough for this.

Not bad for Toonami.

For part 1, the farthest they got, if memory holds true, is around the time the preliminaries to part 3 of the Chuunin Exams ended, then they re-ran it when Shippuden started airing and are currently starting/started part 2 of the Chuunin Exams.

In Shippuden's case, they just recently started the Sasuke and Sai arc. (ep. 34 this past Saturday I believe.)

I'm definitive gonna watch this. Is Toonami going to air all 10 episodes in English or just the first 8. I know that the last 2 episodes come out on BluRay soon.

I personally assume they'll do all 10 because Vol. 9 and 10 come out the same week when Toonami would air 9.

I want to be excited for a re-watch, but I just can't. After Toonami made Black Lagoon and Deadman Wonderland "safe" by editing the cussing and gore respectively, I just can't watch Hellsing Ultimate in its ultimate glory on national TV. :(

And they'll most likely air all 10 episodes dubbed in case anyone is wondering.

Violence is not considered as bad as other things like language and sex in the United States; nonetheless 3AM still is pretty much at a time when nearly no one is up.

Nooooooooo, adult swim and its dubbed crap. Hellsing Ultimate is super badass, but i cant stand to watch any anime on adultswim because it all sounds super tacky. I'll check it out to see how the first dubbed ep goes.

I figured as much. I just didn't have any confirmation that the last two episodes would air dubbed since they're only just recently getting dubbed.

I would personally like to see newer content aired instead of the reboots of anime that was popular here in the States nearly twelve years ago. Space Dandy and Attack on Titan are fine, but Titan is the only show that's heavily pushed to any kind of degree. But I digress...

And thus they are airing it when nobody is awake aside from unemployed individuals. It's as if they aren't airing it at all.

Not being a fan of Hellsing, it looks like I'll be skipping even more Toonami, now. :/

I really wish they would get their hands on Nura, D. Gray Man, Code: Breaker, Fairy Tail, or re-show Rurouni Kenshin.

My main question is how are they going to air this in a 30-minute time slot? The episodes are at least 45-50 minutes long.

huh where you get that info?

there are plenty of 45 minute shows that have 15 mins of commercials to make it nice and even for broadcasting stations
